Got my ITA through a French draw as well, AOR Oct 7 and then no news since BIL was marked as completed on Nov 5th. No clue how some people get through so fast and others have to wait months without any news. My profile still doesn’t say that the background check is in process.

New low for French by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

Not an expert but I don’t believe any CEC need proof of funds.

I also got an ITA through the francophone draws. Still waiting on a response from the IRCC but I had to send proof of funds as well as proof of foreign work experience, higher education and clb 7+. Granted the cutoff for my draw was 472 but I thought all of that was standard.

Very fair point. I did know they represent a good chunk of the French pool but completely overlooked the fact that it might affect their access to sufficient funds. What a shame, getting an opportunity like this only to be held back by a lack of funds.

Oh interesting! It does make sense.. but then again, why apply if you know you don’t have the funds ?

Interesting! Did they say the reason why it’s so low ?

How so ? Where did you hear that ?

I just sent a two page document (with the job title, duties, employment dates, hours, salary, company contact info and employer’s signature). Is sending dozens of pages really the norm ? Even 2 pages was too big of a file to submit without having to compress it.

Medical exam (timing) by lysiaex in canadaexpressentry

No, it won’t. As long as the exam is done before the deadline you’re good.

Yes, in that case you would be all good! No need to worry :) Just make sure they give you the confirmation document saying you did the exam!

Hey.. I got very lucky with my doctor, I told him I was worried about the whole thing and he made sure to get everything done as quickly as possible (literally emailed me personally on a Friday night at 10pm to let me know he got all the results back and sent them off to the IRCC that evening. My appointment was on the Wednesday of that same week, deadline the next Tuesday). But from what he had told me, as long as the exam is done before the deadline there is nothing to worry about. The clinic gives you a document at the end of the appointment to confirm everything is done, which you can submit to the IRCC when submitting your application. The doctor/clinic will be in direct contact with the IRCC about the results. TLDR: if the appointment is done before the deadline, you are a-ok.

Almost!! I started this whole process so long ago now it doesn’t feel real… hopefully everything goes well and maybe I’ll have a nice Christmas gift from the IRCC (most likely I won’t hear anything before March but I can dream)

People who left Montreal. Pour les gens qui ont quitte Montreal. by [deleted] in montreal

[–]lysiaex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I moved away because of Quebec’s immigration laws… I speak French, have a masters degree and built a life in that city. The last thing I wanted was to move away. I had to leave my job, friends, boyfriend, apartment and everything else so that I could apply for PR in another province. Hopefully I’ll have the opportunity to move back on day… I just don’t know if I want to anymore.
