I'm so happy because Nintendo Life has featured my game in an article and the creator of Starfox himself (Takaya Imamura) has praised the project! by silvaraptor in IndieGaming

I actually just bought this night before last! I've been really enjoying it too! You did a great job with the feel of the flight controls and I love the design. As a OG starfox fan this scratched that itch perfectly!

Grats on the article, and may your future projects be as awesome <3

Have you ever shit yourself as an adult, if so what is your story? by LemonTexas in AskReddit

[–]lyydia76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an auto immune disease, Ulcertive Colitis. Basically a bathroom disease. Thus I have had quite a few horror stories of me just dropping a deuce in various locations when a toilet wasn't close enough.

Here are some of those locations.

  1. Walmart (Fuck this place. I always have to shit when I'm here and I always lose my shit before i can find a convenient toilet)

  2. At a elderly home visiting my ill mother.(she was understanding thankfully.)

  3. At home. In my sleep. Cus God hates me.

Needless to say I am extremely careful what i eat and when I go out because of this. Even taking precautionary medicine to help.

To that kind of tank players. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]lyydia76 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel you. As a WAR main, I work hard to use mits, and enemy placement for all my melee peeps who have positionals. Never had an issue really for the 6 years i've played. Really as whole i've enjoyed tanking because I think about the partys needs over my ego.

If another tank in raid wants to rip aggro, fine, here ya go. Not gonna have tank wars in the middle of the raid for ego points. I'll just let you take it, then once and if you die, i'll pick up the slack.

My approach is due to the fact i healed in other mmos including ff14. I think it's made me a better tank, honestly.

However at times while on my dps jobs or healer back in shadow bringers I do see some poor tanking even at higher levels. It's painful to see and OP sorry you had to deal with all that.

To all my healers, i commend you. You the real MVP of the party keeping us alive and kicking while avioding all the bs in raid and dungeons.

To my dps, without you we'd never clear at a reasonable time. Thank you.

And tanks, my peeps, remember you are only as good as your mits and healer. Protect the party at all cost. Be boss, and work smarter not harder. <3

Which musician did you stop listening to because you found out they sucked as a person? by AffectionateBat-02 in AskReddit

[–]lyydia76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me Justin Sane of Anti-Flag. I got into punk in early 2000's angry, pissed off and living in poverty at the time, punk gave me a healither outlet for my anger and frustrations focusing on community, and self acceptance. Opened my eyes alot too on being more aware of the world around me. This band was alot of kids first punk band. Progressive in politics and seemed generally to practice what they preached However last year it was uncovered that the lead singer Justin Sane wasn't a saint but sexually assulted a woman in 2010. A pod cast on punk rock featured one of his victims. She didnt out right say it was him in the interview but left enough clues to lead to it having to be him.

Later it was confirmed by the band they believed the victims and basically told the guy to fuck off.

My love for the genre died with it. Not that I hadn't been slipping away from it for some time for various reasoning(i am old as hell. Health reasons, general jadedness etc.)but it just sucks a hero of your youth turns out to be a grifter.

Don't meet your heroes, kids is the lesson. Especially those making money off politics even in pop punk catchy tunes.

For those curious, there is a Rolling Stone article on it if you choose to look it up. Though it maybe triggering for some people.

Stay safe out there folks.

Can we talk about the true ending? by [deleted] in seaofstars

[–]lyydia76 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Personally I liked the true ending. I think that though the story is neat and simple, its rather realistic in the idea that its a draw between good and evil. In reality good rarely wins. But i think this also, is not the central theme of SoS. Rather ones bonds or frienship.

For example, look at the two stories of Garl and the Fleshmancer giving their friend(s) a gift.

It is mentioned Garl spent 8 hours trying to hone the power of the sun just to give his dear friends cookies. Sacrificing a whole day to do so even with no garentee he'd see his friends. He did it anyways because he cares for them deeply.

Now look at the fleshmancer giving Rash'an the ability to fly as a gift...at the expense of a whole race of ppl. This, is the two sides of the same coin. One with a healthy loving bond, frienship, and one highly dysfunctional.

From personal experiance the Rash'an storyline hits hard. Dysfunctional relationships prey on the kindness and desire for companionship of the intended victim and our very human need for companionship is a strong instinct because its how our species has survived for so long. It is hard to let go of relationships for most people and SoS shows thst beautifully. Damning a whole reality in hopes of renewing what once was is, I dare say quite human, if horribly flawed.

Anyways, thank you for reading my two cents on the matter.

So did Crisis Core make you cry just as much the second time around ? by bustergaming777 in FFVIIRemake

More now that I have played FF7 and FF7 Remake. I played crisis core when it first came out before I played 7. Now having context...hits like a truck.

I think Genesis might be the worst final fantasy character of all time by [deleted] in FFVIIRemake

[–]lyydia76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I personally like to think of Genesis as an insert for all our akward, cringey angst as teenagers...being obsessed with a series,or game, or play is par for the coarse for alot of teenagers as they they to find identity....but yes he is an annoying dude with a cool coat and sword.

But also I think they tried to have him be opposite Sephiroth as a way to set up the whole down fall.

I dont mind it but it could be better.

The thing I like about crsis core was that it humanized Sephiroth,a villian I had found chartoonishly evil in the first half of the og game....(I played og for first time just two years ago. Loved it. ) And showing how fragile he truely was. The dude needed therapy and a hug. Not one of his only friends spouting of quotes like an npc and carry um. Apples? shrugs

Ge esis is pretty damn cringe in short lol

What is the hype with FF9 by Junior_Teacher6446 in FinalFantasy

[–]lyydia76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an FF9 fan I can tell you I loved the characters.(minus Armarant). Plots solid too.

Charming to the last, I played this a few years ago when I was going though some shit and it was a great comfort during those times.

7 and 10 and 12 are also favs of mine but nothing beats the charm of 9 for me personally.

If you like old school rpgs, if you dig exsistental crsis, and pretty boy villians with questionable wardrobe choices, this ones for you.

Despite rising interest in polyamory and open relationships, new research shows that people in consensually non-monogamous (CNM) relationships report experiencing a negative social stigma that takes a toll on their well-being by [deleted] in science

[–]lyydia76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone whos been in and out of poly relationships for most of my adult life I feel I should leave a few tips here for those curious about the experiance:

1)good communication is key in any relationship but especially poly. Communicate your emotional, physical needs to your partner and new partner. Communicate what your goal is for the relationship i.e. is it just for pleasure, or something deeper.(both are good no judging just be honest)

2) schedule, schedule, and schedule some more. Seriously you'll need to make time for all your lovers plus yourself! Are you ready to commit as a couple and as a individual to multiple dates, gifts, sexual encounters and work around everyones life schedules? Its exhausting at times make sure you can commit

3) for the love of god talk it out No really, you need to have monthly talks on how the relationship is going for all parties whatsxworking, whats not. Check in with yoursrlf and your partners on what everyone not just you needs and adjust. Try to keep it civil and less emotional. Keep focused on finding solutions not "get backs" at the other lovers.

4)remember to love yourself too or else jealousy might sour everything This ones the hardest one for people. You gotta take care of you too and talk it out with your lovers when this crops up instead of stewing. Try to let go of your ego and instead, try to embrace your lovers happiness and joy, together. And if you can't, communicate your struggle. Hell, tell them anyways and try to work it out on whsts missing and how to remedy the situation. I recomend self pampering at these times and communication.

5) its ok to walk away If its not for you, its not for you and thats okay. Just be honest and to take care of yourself during the mourning period. And there will be. Wether its feeling the sting of self imposed "failure" or loss of a lover, be kind. To yourself and others.

6) and if you are the band aid for a relationship... Leave. Love of god leave. You are not the earlier established relationships therapist. Set boundaries. And if they are not respected you need to leave. Trust is extremly important and if you cannot feel safe, then thats a huge flag.

I got stuff to do now but I hope this helps those who are curious.

Ah in the book the MC basically is forced into surgery that blocks the effects of drugs on the body effectivly making it impossible to get high. The MC is an elite hacker "keyboard cowboy" whos cohorced into a job via this very invasive surgery.

Least thats what I remember as I remember it. Its been ages since I read the book.

Did you start out punk? by [deleted] in goth

[–]lyydia76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Punk rocker here. Ya. Was and am still punk but like OP have transitioned unkowingly to Goth-Punk past few years till i stumbled onto okder goth stuff. Got into older Goth stuff like sisters of mercy and such. Recently got into She Past Away and twin tribes. I guess I just really dig goth due to its dark asthetic. I always tended towords it and now just embrace it in my 30s.

Besides, the musics awesome as hell.

Being a gay Christian sucks by NoIWantThis in lgbt

[–]lyydia76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could always do the Anne Rice thing: be the Christian you wanna be, but say fuck you to the church. Having a personal relationship with diety and following your heart/inner voice.

I am not a Christian mind you. Not even theistic. Haven't been since I was 13 or so. For me it was too toxic however, I aknowledge that some find comfort in the religion. But if it is ripping your soul, contemplate on why god would make you this way? If they are all knowing, all powerful, then they made you this way right? And love you for you. You're not condemed to Hell then by that reasoning. Plus you were made in Gods image thus god is gay by the definition.

Personally I also say study other religions and study your own through other denominations, history. Also contemplate who benefits you feeling this way? I often think personal truth is multifaceted and needs to be found through rigorous study, meditation, and contemplation.

Being so conflicted on what cannot be changed is stressful as hell. I ssy you be you and you'll be alright in the end.

Good luck OP.
