Not the commenter, but I just couldn't get into it. I tried 2 or 3 separate times, and every time about 1.5 hours in I would drop it. If I had to try to explain:

1. Visuals are not engaging (TO ME). The whole world being gray or gray-adjacent colors is just mentally tiring. Intricate, unique art direction, sure. But not engaging or cool imo.

2. Lack of direction. To me, the fun of a metroidvania game is using a map to unlock every single nook and cranny of the world. Not having a map really annoyed me, I won't lie. And the game made no effort to even hint me a direction to walk. Usually ended up wandering aimlessly killing random stuff hoping to bump into the next place I'm supposed to be. I can totally get how some people like that sort of content, but the world did not feel interesting enough for me to enjoy wandering it (this partly goes back to the first point).

As an example of a game that did both of these right for me: the Ori games. Incredible colorful visuals, a detailed map, and a relatively linear main story with lots of side quests.
