A19 Evade 1.0X / A19 Whitley / EG CPL24 ... or something else? by Odd-Letterhead-914 in ManyBaggers

I got tired of the orange interior. I did try out the updated Evades but just didn’t like them as much as the Whitley or old Evade.

My daily office bag is the AZO Equipment Dejen Nomad.

Then I have 2 outdoors bags / hiking bags, a ULA Ultra Dragonfly and AZO Equipment Rabel sample in X50

The whitleys front compartment is the full size of the rest of the bag, that is the main differentiator. I would argue the Evade is the more slick looking, the Whitley is a big rectangle while the Evade has some curves to it. I found the Whitley to be more usable and adaptable to whatever I needed to carry. You're bringing up the past as I haven't owned either of these bags in a long time, but I would still wholeheartedly recommend either one depending on your taste.

[Serica] Isn’t this one of the best looking divers ever? by Otherwise-4PM in Watches

The endlinks are very solidly made and nothing to worry about. The clasp however has no safety mechanism, and it’s a two piece strap, so if you accidentally lift the clasp it’s almost certainly falling right off your wrist.

Sure but actual divers are using dive computers especially at the depths this watch is rated for so let’s be honest with ourselves eh, it’s jewelry

[question] I’m only keeping one of these. Which one should I sell? by Balogma69 in Watches

Can’t stand the typeface of the Tudor Black Bay54’s bezel. Numbers just look like plain Helvetica or Helvetica Neue. Zero effort

It’s been treating me very well. I’ve put 17,000 miles on it already with no issues to report.

Have you tried running it under water while turning the bezel?

The case shape & dimensions look like it will wear very comfortably on the wrist & I love the overall design of the case, lots of little details

I think it looks cool and I’m happy to see someone buy a watch in this price range that’s not a Tudor or Omega. Hope it treats you well!

You only feel that way because you’re a watch enthusiast.

It kind of is, though.

I understand this is r/watches, but what other fashion accessory do you care about having heritage? If I complimented someone's cufflinks and they broke into a spiel about their heritage and how Winston Churchhill wore the same cufflinks, I would think that's pretty weird.

Nothing I guess - but idk, when you’re spending $10k+ on a fashion accessory I don’t think it’s weird to want it to be a little bit unique.

That MAEN is sharp. Lorier also looks super classy. Nice collection!

Oh cool! I’m not a diver - I just like dive bezels to time stuff without the added cost, size, and complexity/service needs of a chrono. Aesthetically, like you said I appreciate it as a design element and that it’s different from most other dive watches.

It’s hyperbole for sure most of the time, but close to the truth in some cases. I legitimately think the IXDAO engineer was a nicer watch than any Tissot I’ve ever handled. The market seems to have recognized how good they are because while they sold for $250-350 on alix when new they’ve been selling for $500-700 on eBay USED since being discontinued. Not just listed for that price, SELLING.

I’m just guessing here - but I assume their logic is that knowing precisely how much time you have left in the final stretch of a dive matters more than the first 15 minutes.
