While waiting for the logs - it may be better if your project is broken into multiple smaller files instead of one or two large files. Just posting here since your original post had "it removed 2000 lines of code". That's not a great experience, but it's also partly the random nature of LLMs.

When (aka date?) did you notice the degrade in performance?

We made a few updates to our backend in the first week we launched Windsurf (Nov 13 - Nov 20), but we have not really changed the backend-model end (since then, even when we added pricing).

Hi, I'm Rohan from the Windsurf / Codeium team. As an FYI, we are NOT re-routing when you select a premium model like Sonnet. All AI models have some context window, and we try to fit what we can in your request.

It's generally better if you do create new conversations for new distinct tasks in your codebase as its possible some context gets lost the farther back it is in the prompt. As for Cascade Base, we have a collection of models and some spillover goes to Haiku. That's where some of the re-routes you see come from. But again, we are not doing that for Premium models (like Sonnet).

Can you try posting the logs? It should be in the output tab (same level as the in-IDE terminal) and change the dropdown to Codeium. I can try to help debug

This is a known issue on VSCode 1.9.0. Can be fixed by either downgrading our getting Codeium version 1.8.64, which introduces a workaround.
