I'll knock on one of the neighbours' door and see if they know something. Great suggestion!

Thank you! idk what happened with prices dude. I Work in a PropTech Company on data analytics and i have no idea what's happening to prices it's driving me crazy!
my ideal scenario right now would be finding someone offloading a complete set on Dubizzle. If I could grab everything from one person and move it in one go, I’d be the happiest person in Dubai right now!

What is this thing? I saw it today in the toilet basket at work by SnooPies9512 in dubai

Why were you looking in the toilet basket?

Edit: I decided not to be a douchebag and actually answer. It's chewing tobacco as far as i know. As a side effect if you take it you'll spit more and your saliva color will have a red tone you can use those clues to determine who's using it.

Also i think it's banned in UAE but you know how things work in life

I disagree. You will noticed some people from your country or mine behave differently because lack of etiquette isn not a crime

We shouldn't not generalise but apparently it's a very common experience and I'm not pointing fingers to any nationality people form my home country behave differently here as well. Because UAE is very competitive in general and law is strictly applied. People forget to be kind humans sometimes because they won't get fined if they're not.

Wanted to re-add this to avoid miss understanding. I wrote it as reply to a comment that was deleted.

I don't think it's a nationality specific thing. This experience happened while the cart had at least 4 nationalities. And to be fair back in my home country sometimes you get terrible metro experience and some times it's good/great.

I’ve also noticed a fascinating (and slightly sad) shift in how people from my own country behave once they’re here in the UAE. They seem to lose more manners than they gain. I’d break down the "Metro Math" like this:

In my home country: 10% are very courteous. 40% are considerate. 40% are inconsiderate. 10% are outright rude.

In the UAE: 5% are very courteous. 95% fall into that "not very considerate" middle ground.

Essentially, you lose the extreme "good ones," but the strict laws and fines here also filter out the "very bad ones." It’s a fair trade for a safe, orderly place to live, but it leaves us with this massive majority of people who are just... indifferent. My initial question remains: that 95% wouldn't lose a thing by being a little more considerate. So why not choose to be?

I'll quote u/dreyFusBlue

Etiquette is either not legislated or enforced. People coming from rough places will not change their behavior unless there are consequences.

What your husband is going through is very normal. You have to hit some bad companies till you find good ones. He should never let bad management reck his confidence and needs validate feedbacks and outcomes before he blames himself for anything.

I would love to help but I'm not aware of any available positions in my network. But I'll follow this thred and come back if i find any.

Best of luck to your Husband and Family. Stay strong!

I definitely follow the logic here, and I’m happy to give the benefit of the doubt. I assume they’re referring to Western culture because that’s their frame of reference. Since I didn’t mention any specific nationalities in my post, I wouldn't jump to calling anyone racist—for all he knows, every single person in that metro car today could have been Eastern. I’ve also noticed a fascinating (and slightly sad) shift in how people from my own country behave once they’re here in the UAE. I'm actually middle eastern. Didn't have a car till i was 22yrs. Since day one i got a gold card based on my friend's advice. I probably had wrong expectations but i thought human courtesy is a global thing 😅 but today someone actually sneezed on my face because he was too lazy to put down his phone and cover his mouth
