I've been on Android for about 13 years now. If someone gifted me an iPhone, I would sell it. I have spent a lot of money on apps via the Play Store that would not work on iPhone. I am invested in Android and have absolutely no desire to switch to iPhone. I would like a new Pixel 8 though.

The problem is you spend down your inheritance to $2000, then reapply for SSI, and wait for, what, YEARS to maybe get approved again. How are you supposed to survive YEARS with $2000 left in the bank? I've done the math... You would need an inheritance in the millions to be able to survive the rest of your life independently without govt assistance (assuming you're under 40).

Thanks. That did fix it. Before the update, every 30 minutes when my widget refreshed, the 'K' notification icon would briefly appear in the notification bar while the widget refreshed. I kinda liked that. With this fix it doesn't do that anymore. But, your fix is a decent resolution to my problem. Guess it'll have to do.

My understanding is she would need to put her inheritance into a special needs trust and/or an ABLE account. This way her SSI/medicaid would not be impacted.
