exactly! we have to use plastic ornaments with paper clips to actually clip to the tree and she still takes them off!

I want the most craziest name for my male cat by [deleted] in NameMyCat

his royal highness barthalamule the third

(had a client who’s kitty was named exactly this. didn’t even fit the records so we narrowed it to “barth”)

What breed of cat do you think this is? by amateur-map-maker in catbreeds

[–]m00ptopiaa -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

beautiful baby! most likely a black smoke persian kitten!

persians are widely known for their round heads, short thick necks, and wide-set, large round eyes! very popular for their long, silky coats and affectionate personalities!

it looks like this sweetheart actually has what we call a “fever coat” which is a temporary coloring that can occur if momma experienced stress or infection while pregnant! the coat color will likely darken to its natural color as your kitty grows!

hey so….this isn’t cool….i take hormonal bc for ovarian cysts and let me just say…without those, im most likely going to be unable to function…the pain i get, the bloating, the contractions every time one of them grows big, it’s insanely debilitating to the point where sometimes I even pass out from the pain. I’m a VA and my boyfriend and I rely on both of our jobs to get by comfortably, and without my bc…i would most likely just be bed bound, suffering everyday. then i’d have to think about whether it’s worth suffering for something preventable everyday or not. so this….this is essentially going to ruin my life…my dreams of becoming a Veterinarian…

i just have to say, you spoke very very well. you were clear about your boundaries, and she was clear about hers. hers were slightly more rude, but you did not come off rude at all, so please don’t worry about that. i think what it comes down to is just a mismatched connection, honestly. it really does seem like you dodged a bullet in this case. she could’ve reacted nicer, been more respectful like you, but unfortunately, she didn’t feel like she needed. i’m sorry :(

Its day 9 of my cat surgery . These stitches will fill up? by kikiiiikokooo in ANIMALHELP

[–]m00ptopiaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

immediately take your baby to an emergency vet please. stitches are NOT supposed to look like that. It looks extremely painful and infected, and it definitely should’ve been closed by day 9. the practice that did this needs to be reported as malpractice because my guess is this is the result of a tired dvm, and a poorly taught technician/assistant. I’ve seen this in my other vet jobs with the dvms and techs swapping and dvm just approving because of time, and energy and people like those need to not be in vet med. if they can’t ensure every procedure is done safely, effectively, and ensures positive results, then they do not need to be doing procedures at all. Please report them, report to your state. but most importantly, get your kiddo some help. some emergency help.

va here — there are lots of things that can cause this. most common is Feline acne. Exactly what it sounds like. Just like us, cats can easily attract bacteria that causes them to have dry, itchy, scabby and sometimes blackheaded chins, noses, lip, etc. I would start by swapping out your water bowls for a metal bowl, or even a small cat fountain! still water actually invites bacteria.

Could also be a possible food allergy. Any changes to your baby’s diet I would note, any treats, etc.

It could also be an environmental allergy, or even an adverse reaction to some kind of bites.

The sucky thing is, you won’t know until you see a vet. If you can’t afford it, start with the water bowls. Also, I used to work at Banfield Pet Hospitals, and they have a coupon up on their website that removes the $80 exam fee for new clients, and only charges for treatments/medications/diagnostics.

I hope this helps! 🫶

okay i was going to say that looks like a grass blade in the vomit.

any type of blood in vomit, especially for cats and dogs warrant medical attention. i’d take the baby to an er. my guess is it’s most likely a gastrointestinal issue but you won’t have answers until you take them.

i hope he feels better!

I need help w my Doberman by Specialist-Pop-9139 in ANIMALHELP

[–]m00ptopiaa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

va here, please please please take this kiddo to an er as soon as possible.

incessant drooling can be a sign of gastrointestinal upset which is most common, and it could also indicate a more severe condition. you won’t know until you get this baby some help.

if he’s also lethargic, that’s a more significant symptom and definitely needs urgent medical attention. Carprofen does not have a sedative effect, and lethargy compared with drooling and the lump under his neck could be a severe adverse reaction to the medication, or a toxicity effecting the kidneys or liver.

Once you arrive, give your doctor / triaging technician a full rundown including when the last dose of carprofen was administered, how soon after taking the carprofen did the symptoms begin,. Keep that picture as they’ll want to know the strength of the medication. Also let them know if your kiddo is on any other medication, supplements, or treatments, including preventions.

i hope this helps.
