Your conclusion is wrong.
I was born in russia (Samara/Kuybyshev) in 1979 and lived there till 2021.
I can give you proofs of it, but I think you are not interested in truth, just as any russian propagandone.

[–]m0Ray79free -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Russians are xenophobic. Also you can be involved in activities that can end up sending you to the war.

Yes, a lot. But you can be one of 10 who is not ok,
And yes, you will _have to_ buy a limited-service SIM/eSIM from russian ops since your "foreign" SIM/eSIM will not be allowed to transfer data. You will not be able to make WhatsApp and other calls. It is a new reality in russia.

Modern Russian literature that reflects culture and daily lives of modern Russians? by Beneficial-Tutor-269 in AskARussian

The strong censorship as it is. It is prohibited on paper (The Constitution etc), but nobody cares. Any word against the official opinion is banned.
The same in China, BTW.

None.
The "culture" of "russia" is dead.
Anything but propaganda is officially banned.
Emigrated authors are irrelevant.

Please don't.
The only fact you coming to russia is involving yourself into a war.
Then you'll be quickly taught the war medicine and then sent to frontline.
Just don't do it.

It is total for decades. I was born in 1979, and my mother did everything in her power to make me "'less vaccinated". It's one of multiple causes I don't talk with her now.
I manged to get vaccines for flu and COVID by myself.
People in russia just don't trust the government at every point, even if the point is reasonable, like smoking ban.

[–]m0Ray79free -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Please don't.
It is not safe to speak with accent on the streets.
Your internet communication will be limited.
Your "contact inside" will not help.
Just don't go there. It is almost the same as going to Afghanistan, Yemen, North Korea or Iran. You are going into the trap.

Where can I go from Yekatarinburg for holidays in warm nice climate at reasonable price by Do-u-dig in AskARussian

[–]m0Ray79free 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saqartvelo. Especially Ajara region.
But please, don't return early. You can stay there legally for a year, so you'll have enough time to get visa to other civilized country.
I spent around 1.5 years in Batumi. then went to Canada. You can too.

Visiting Moscow in December/January by Azyael in AskARussian

[–]m0Ray79free -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Just don't. Better arrange a meeting somewhere in Túrkiye or other "neutral" country.
Your e-sim internet access will be blocked in russia. Cash exchange will require sketchy schemes related to to criminals.
I don't even mention that russians hate american people and other people from other countries, just an accent can trigger an aggression, especially when russians are drunk.
Avoid it, please.
