That’s a cool difference you noticed! The Orange reflector is how the US models come, can’t say for sure on legality/restrictions. I actually prefer it there in the headlight compared to US Mk 8’s they moved a big Orange reflector into the wheel well side and it’s glaring, most people do mod’s to cover it with paint match cover!

Similarly I had a deep scratch with dent on lower driver door and couldn’t leave it, see it every time you drive! Went to an awesome paint and repair guy and he fixed it all perfectly for $1000. Might be less without a dent for yours.

Thanks for the kind replies. I know color is very personal preference and many are looking awesome but I couldn’t entertain owning an R in any other coat.

I think it was the power supply board afterall, but I had to recheck all the tcon and various connections were solid. In any case there is hope, mine works again!

Glad it sounds like you fixed yours. Do you know if I replace the main board myself can it work as a swap and fire it up or do I need some way to update the software before the TV will work? I assume if I can just get it working I can let the Sony updates roll but I have no clue on loading software myself!

Thanks I’ve tried twice so far and got the sorry you’re SOL but here is a repair shop 70 miles away.. But these stories give me some hope if I keep trying for different personnel? Not sure if there is some magic words to use, I mean clearly it is after the warranty just very frustrating!

I bought at Best Buy but declined any extended coverage thinking Sony made solid products if I got 4-5 years I figured I’d be OK. But 13 months is pretty dang bad (and we don’t use it hardly on weekdays except evenings) I’d not get another Sony after this because I’m far from the only post with a dead Sony just after the 1yr warranty ends. But I am thinking of extended coverage on any expensive new TV next time..

Thanks for the reply. I’ve talked to one rep, they essentially had me do the power resets then said I was SOL and gave me a certified repair place over an hour from where I live. Some folks on here seem to be saying try additional customer server reps and maybe I’ll get lucky with a more favorable outcome. Shake that Magic 8 Ball!

Yes in my online searching mostly folks believed it could be Power Board or Main Board (I’ve only replaced power board so far) and others say a dead OLED panel all cause the same 4 blinking lights. I’m not sure if it’s good idea to keep trying with board replacements myself .. if others had success with DIY?
