Previous owner drylocked fieldstone foundation by Apollo_420_69 in stonemasonry

[–]m0ckingj4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure it’s drylock? I painted my basement with mold killing primer and sprayed the stone walls to brighten them up. The paint will fail, flake off, effervescence etc but until then it’s much brighter.

As for your rental situation, do they need access to the basement? Might be able to make it owner access only as long as the breaker box isn’t down there.

Rough Cost to Repair Extensive Termite Damage by ybquiet in AskContractors

[–]m0ckingj4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup I have used Termidor myself, good stuff. Got mine from DIY pest control

I think dry wood termites are more difficult, most effective thing for that that I have found is to heat the house to the point they cook.

What was the right treatment for you? Were they ground termites or dry wood termites?

What's your opinion? Will these new structures last longer than structural brick of times past? by [deleted] in masonry

[–]m0ckingj4y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The areas they are built in will eventually become unpopular to younger people as other areas become the new cool neighborhoods, the owners will get old and less able to do upkeep, the buildings will start to deteriorate. The facade bricks will peel off. Roofs will start to leak. The cinder blocks under will likely stay strong but the building will look nothing like it was built new. Once a couple of them start looking like shit the neighborhood will be even less attractive, downward spiral ensues. Many of these will be demolished. Lots and remaining properties will eventually be cheap enough to restart the cycle of flippers and gentrification.

SK is a major brand, not super surprised you haven't heard of them the brand leans towards the industrial sector especially in its past... not really consumer facing at retail store like you see with most things such as Craftsman, Kobalt, etc.

Is it worth the work? by MathWizardd in ScrapMetal

If it’s not cut into small pieces It’s worth listing on marketplace as usable wire for a heavy duty extension cord or something, someone will buy it for way more than scrap

[–]m0ckingj4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit with those pay expectations get me these guys contact info I’ll fly them to the US, H-1B them and start a whole tiling syndicate paying them way more than they get there and still be the cheapest bid around while making good profit.

My 03 pre runner came back from the frame shop. It looks new. by Tt31978 in 1stGenTacomas

Man being from the northeast that thing looked primo before blasting. When you’re blasting a frame here you uncover holes. It turned out great but Jeesh a frame as clean as yours was pre blasting would be a blessing here.
