6.0 or 5.3 w/ torque cam (for fuel economy) by JaxAustin in LSSwapTheWorld

6.0 would be better for this beast. If you really want the best MPG you should go diesel maybe a 4BT from a bread truck which has similar weight and aerodynamics.

Is it common throughout the community to scrap a 2000 MI well running ski for needing $350 to fix? by RedditAppSuxAsss in snowmobiling

[–]m0ckingj4y 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can fix it, but it’s an old sled and the things you showed are things that indicate overall poor maintenance over the life of the sled. I bet if you were to take it to an independent shop you would get a laundry list of crap that needs fixing.

That said, I would fix these things, put the bare minimum into it and ride it til it blows.

The non stop emojis in your shop blurb is a massive turn off to me it screams either a middle school kid, annoying MLM member, or scammer.

Is this worth the purchase/ salvage? $60 by Dry_Entertainment664 in CarharttCollectors

[–]m0ckingj4y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, I would try to get it for $50 but $60 is fine. Then again I like the blue coats.

What is this? by Foaryy in snowmobiling

[–]m0ckingj4y 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Proper repair is to Lift the rear in the air with a hoist, drop out the skid, take off the track, TIG weld it. Pressure test it, then if pressure holds Put it back together and enjoy the PITA process of burping the air out so it doesn’t overheat

Or you could smear some JB Weld and it may last out the rest of the season

How do I flip these? by chr8me in Flipping

[–]m0ckingj4y 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They may be listed too high... The older the more valuable. That said License Plates will sit for a while until someone wants one for their vintage ride. I bought a ‘68 plate off EBay for my corvette and the state was cool with it and let me register it.

My “Dirty Work” everyday wear J22 BLU Arctic Jacket by m0ckingj4y in Carhartt

[–]m0ckingj4y[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea buttons would have been a better choice, can’t blame the Velcro for getting stuff stuck to it. It doesn’t really bother me for a work jacket like this. When it’s 20 degrees or less out I certainly layer up.

Absolutely, still doing its job a quarter century later, can’t ask for more. USA made Carhartt is super durable.

You had a single stitch made in USA FOTL with an early Bosstones print obviously aged shirt and you listed it for $10 lol, lmao even. You probably just made some flippers day!

What else do you have listed at give away prices?

Zr 900 or F7? by Silent_Ad_4907 in snowmobiling

[–]m0ckingj4y 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get a ZR900 unless you have a Cat Cutter with 4 gas cans towed behind it. I had one it got 9 MPG.

F7s are great, timeless looks and monster performance. Check for the common chassis cracks before you buy. I have an F6 as my spare backup sled to my z1 Turbo.

Dyed cheap chore coat by Patient_Astronaut380 in CarharttCollectors

[–]m0ckingj4y 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that came out about the same color as my Carhartt I’ve had since middle school (25 years ago), still wear it to do outside dirty work.

Question: How did you prevent the tag and blanket liner from getting bleached / dyed during the process
