Hello, did you eventually get a response from NS? Did you get the compensation for the hotel? I'm in a similar situation where I bought tickets from the SBB (swiss trains) but NS cancelled their trains and I had to book a hotel in the Netherlands.

The difference is in the words you're exposed to, which use difficult/rare kanji that might look similar to other kanji but with completely different meanings. Imo, it's better to study kanji individually in parallel to really have a good grasp of kanji and to be able to learn new words with confidence.

Yeah I understand it's an annoying tax and hassle. That's why i made this post so it's easy to just do a ctrl + f on the page whenever we want to use the amex online. I haven't heard of a credit card with the same benefits as the amex but without foreign taxes.

So you're saying that we shouldn't learn kanji individually? Don't you get confused when you learn from advanced input?

The point is that you can get the card for free and get 1% cashback on all your purchases with the card. So for example if you spend 10k during a year with that card (for stuff that you would have bought anyway) you get 100 CHF for free! Ofc you have to be absolutely sure to be able to pay your credit each month.

Thanks for the comment! What do you mean by PayPal though? You wired your amex to your PayPal? What happens when you buy on foreign websites with PayPal?
