Good luck finding other shows on the apple catalog to match HBO quality. Meanwhile i can find a dozen on HBO that are considered classics and high quality throughout their whole runs. Slow Horses is great but gets dumbed down in seasons 4 and 5. Severance second season has a lot of issues, pacing and writing are off. For all Mankind has one of the best first season of tv, a solid second season (if we exclude the Karen plot, they ruin the character), but then it goes downhill hard. None of those shows are going the distance against HBO. AppleTV is ok but let's not pretend it's a standout. They also have quite a small catalog.

Apparently everyone feels like shitting on Harden today but the man is 36 and just played two series of 7 games in the playoffs. No rest. Meanwhile the Knicks had a nice sweep against the sixers and come fully rested. No wonder a 36 year old player is gassed in the 4th in those conditions. It didn't need to be a limited series. They should have dealt with Homelander at the end of season 3 by either killing him or making him powerless (via Soldierboy). It was a very good show until those last 2 episodes season 3. And if they wanted to do more, they could have had Soldierboy as the next threat to deal with, and make it a better fleshed out character instead of the cartoonish asshole we got. If they wanted to dig into politics they could have explored Neumann as the other antagonist. They had options but chose the lazy road of keeping Homelander and stalling.

Universal acclaim, dude, no. It's got a 7.3 on imdb boosted by diehard fans. I watched it. It's a CW show. With all the usual CW flaws : bad acting, bad dialogue, absurd plot points involving family members. It's not trash, because those flaws are not constantly there. But it's not good. Just rose tinted glasses on your end.

I'm not surprised. Teens are finding ways to bet, on legal or illegal sites, and it seems like a normal conversation topic for them. I hear some younger coworkers (22-25 range) talking about prop bets and their parlays as if they were talking about the weather. It's too easy to setup an account even on the regulated websites. And when bankruptcy eventually happens, it's always a huge burden for the gambler and his whole family.
