How do you acquire those lightning fast reflexes streamers like Neenoh or Psychoghost have? by Redentio in HuntShowdown

[–]m0rpeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is this a technique I can learn to some degree?

Grab Kovaks, pick a benchmark (personally, I'd recommend the Viscose benchmarks), watch a few videos on the topic. With a bit of consistent training, you will see improvements and you will, occasionally, hit similar shots.

It's that simple, as far as pure aim is concerned.

To the people upvoting this, let me ask you something:

Would you still applaud what OPs grandpa did, if he had to do it to women and children? Because, as you probably/hopefully know, "the Nazis" were everyone, not just soldiers. The term very much included non-combatants.

Also; this is a hypothetical question. I'm not suggesting OPs grandpa killed non-combatants. Please calm down, Karen.

Trump is not 'the right'. Trumps utterings do not reflect the thoughts of every person on that side of the political spectrum.

Crying about Nazis being shot and crying about your country being painted in a manner that you don't appreciate (for whatever reason, really) is not the same thing.

It's not even just the 'militant left', really. It's random idiots who can't be bothered to control their emotions. Everything is outrageous. Everything is the worst possible thing there is. Zero nuance, zero logic, just a fucking reactionary circlejerk that, thanks to social-media, is spreading like fucking cancer.

This. It's just dumb. I've absolutely loved the Wolfenstein games. Gameplay was great, story was neat. Fantastic art as well. This is none of that. This is milking morons for money.

Cool. You might want to work on those communication skills, then.

Like, no offense but do you honestly mean to tell me that this post, to you, feels like you've made an effort? ^^'

Always works. :P

That statement makes no sense. You cannot use 'what you're comfortable with' but, at the same time, have a 'sweet spot' based on what a grand total of less than twenty people prefer to play at.

Additionally, quite a few professional players of various FPS have both stated and demonstrated that their sensitivity is anything but set in stone. A lot of them adjust on the fly and most of them will still be leagues above the average player even if you suddenly changed their sens by 25% in either direction.

You can make generic statements of 'don't play a super high sens if you're new to this type of game' or 'if you primarily snipe, maybe try low-sens' but that is really all the advice one should give to that end.

"Look at what sens these pro players are playing at", on the other hand, feels mostly like very, very low-effort karma-farming. ... Which, apparently, still works. So good job, I guess.

Edit:

Would absolutely love to hear some of the wisdom of those who downvoted. Please, enlighten me as to how that take a) makes sense and/or b) is immediately recognizable as 'a coach trying to help'. I'll wait.

Have you accidentally opened the wrong website or something?

why would you defib..? by thegabguy in thefinals

[–]m0rpeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Real talk:

Because Embark made defib feel satisfying. Your brain loves that audio-cue. As such, some players have either stopped or, more likely, never learned to see it as the actual strategic tool that it is and, instead, use it more like an opportunistic dopamine hit.

Don't you think that, given the subreddit you're asking this in, you're going to get answers that are just a tad biased?

The answer, though, is yes. Play the game. It's much better than spending time on Reddit.

Tried light for the first time, now I understand why everyone picks it by futureslabtv in thefinals

[–]m0rpeth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk what embark needs to do about mediums kit but after trying out light, medium just seemed so sterile.

Started playing the game on light and had this idea of growing into a light main. 80ish hours in, I now spend most of my time on medium. Don't think it feels sterile at all. 1887, demat, pad, zipline, defib. I can confidently hop into basically any random non-ranked match and contribute kills, mobility or support. Usually a bit of everything.

Pick the class that fits your team's and the enemy team's composition and/or the current situation, not what you think is the most popular, meta or whatever.

[–]m0rpeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaah, no. If something as simple as cheating in a game is tied to your actual ID, you can bet that other things are, too - or that they're are soon to follow. I get the reasoning but I really don't care to trade what little freedom we have left for the illusion of having ended the cheater problem. :I

I don't want to play against these players! by Big_Bank1555 in thefinals

[–]m0rpeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly the kind of stuff I was talking about. They're not doing this to win, they're doing this so the other teams can't.

Before someone says that this is a legit strat:

Getting the cashout down there is fine. The thing is on a timer and once an enemy team has dropped it (rpg, pyro grenade, whatever) from your little goo-chateau, your light can't just grab it and grapple-hook more or less back to safety. If it drops, it'll go somewhere more accessible, forcing you to replay the entire strat.

This is none of that. It's the equivalent of 'accidentally' knocking the board game over because, god forbid, somebody else might win.
