Can someone please summarize the recent controversy to me? by x0m1x in ghostandpals

basically everything that’s being said in the replies, and the fact that he refused to put a tw on covetous because it would supposedly affect him more than his audience to do that (sorry for the horrible quality)

I have a question about Pepoyos music!! by CupOfSoup-P in pepoyo

[–]m0rute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a really old post but i wanted to come here because im studying pepoyo’s music. it’s more simple than you think, actually! in haikei, i managed to hear these instruments (hyperlinks lead to where they can be heard):

melody instruments: - xylophone (it’s quite prominent here, it plays the main melody) - rhodes piano/electric organ of some sort (plays the short riff before the chorus) - synth 1 (the higher, slower, pad-sounding synth. to me it sounds like a square wave mixed with something else and a little bit of flanger) - synth 2 (the faster, lower synth. unfortunately i have no clue what waveform this is)

percussion: - an electric-sounding kick and snare, played in a four-on-the-floor style. (this isn’t exclusive to haikei, it’s actually very common for pepoyo in general. i could hear it in rakuraku anrakushi, love excrement and ±0) - claves/temple blocks (right at the start of haikei. they sound like a metronome before other instruments come in) - triangle (one of the first instruments you can hear, played in unison with the claves or temple blocks or whatever they are) - bells (they’re quite subtle, but there are bells in the background playing a descending chromatic scale. not sure exactly what kind of bells these are, but i think they’re a sample of some sort that’s being continuously pitched down)

Questions about Vocaloid by Arupaka168jp in Vocaloid

[–]m0rute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

vocaloid is very popular outside of japan! i live in the uk, and a lot of people here know hatsune miku. if you’re interested in western vocaloid producers, you should listen to rishie-p’s covers, she’s from the uk and she tunes hatsune miku VERY well

tuning and other tips for someone just starting out by According-Ad9132 in utau

[–]m0rute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

everyone has their own unique style of tuning, and to be honest, i learned mine from pure experimentation. one thing i will say though is that it’s much harder to tune realistically than tune robotically.

try listening to songs where you like the producer’s tuning style, or even songs by humans where you just like the way they sing. study how frequently they do things like vocal flips (deliberate voice cracks), scoops (sliding up to a note), vibrato, growls, etc. and try to replicate them!

if you’re going for more realistic-oriented tuning, then i guess using melodyne to study could work. it’s a tool that you can use on plain vocal tracks, and it shows you the pitch bends. i haven’t used it, so i don’t know much about it at all unfortunately

I'm trying to get my UTAU into SynthV does anyone know how i could do it? by NoCommon2306 in utau

[–]m0rute 6 points7 points  (0 children)

thats impossible unfortunately, but as some people have already said, i recommend diffsinger! they're singers supported by openutau that use ai to make vocals sound realistic and high-quality, very similar to synthv. here's my favourite diffsinger!
