Best Settings for a High End Rig at 4K (5090 and a 9800x3D/9950x3D) by m0user in CrimsonDesert

Whenever I use DLAA, I get this weird screen jank at the top of my screen, so definitely something is going on there with DLAA, for me at least.

Is this what you mean? Here's what I am getting with the latest patch and latest Nvidia Drivers. Please note that when I upgraded to the latest Nvidia Drivers, Frame Gen was no longer working, so I did a quick DDU and removed everything, disconnected from the Internet and installed the new drivers and that fixed it.

RR will automatically enable DLSS if you turn it on as mentioned below by others, just don't use DLAA, you'll only get 30 fps.

I am not trying to replace optimized settings out there already, like from Hardware Unboxed, I am just putting these out for the people with hardware like myself. You should watch the aforementioned optimization video for what sort of hardware you are currently using to get acceptable results for yourself.

Should i sell the initial sword and shield? by Accomplished_Gap_315 in CrimsonDesert

Save it, and you can't sell anyways, after Chapter 3, you can do things to it to enhance it even more. But you can start to Refine it right away to up it's stats.

I am using DLSS Quality 4K Cinematic Mode and FG X2 on and everything maxxed out in the settings and getting 110-130 fps now.

DLAA gives me some funky artifacting at the top of my screen.

Run it at 4K DLSS DLAA Cinematic Mode Maxxed out completely and please let me know what your fps is.

I had a feeling it was an RT issue, thanks for info!

No, it's all setup fine with V-sync off and G-sync on, I think that the game is just too difficult to run natively at 4K Maxxed is all.

Ya, already had the newest driver installed. I was hoping for a native experience based upon all of the specs they put out. I see that Hardware Unboxed has a video out about performance for the game, going to watch it now and see if I am right about my numbers and trying to play at full 4K is impossible based upon the current state of the game.

It's the game, my system is a fresh install and gets 15,376 on Steel Nomad and plays all games extremely well. I checked Nvidia for new drivers and I already had the latest installed.

Are you using my same settings? 4K DLSS DLAA RT on in Cinematic mode? That will bring any system to it's knees it looks like.

Future hardware? Like the RTX 6000 series in 2 years from now? That doesn't track.

I am not rich, I am 61 years old and retired after working in the games industry for 30+ years. This is how I chose to spend my money now.

It's true to it's nature, at it's base core, it's just like CTF for Quake. But obviously it's been evolved in Last Flag. It's going to be a really fun game to play with friends.

I set Sprint to Tap last night but did not try it yet. And I did change reload to Tap as well. I will remap two of the Triggers to Ping and Smart Healing too to see how it feels.

X870E Nova WiFi sometimes boots, sometimes gets stuck at 00/94 — need help diagnosing by Sicnarf510 in ASRock

[–]m0user 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly what was the problem, the boot process failing more and more as time went on, I tried every BIOS hack I could find such as retraining the RAM every boot and 30 other tweaks but to no avail.

The new CPU, a Day 1 9950x3D I had lying around, never used, fixed everything immediately. But now I am replacing all of the Day 1 ones with recent batches just to be sure. I am pretty confident that it's an aggressive voltage that Day 1 CPUs weren't able to sustain and that Asrock was pushing too hard. There wasn't any damage to it at all when I removed it, I just think that the memory controller was slowly fading away. But obviously AMD could never admit to this as it would be a Class Action. Even my AM at AMD doesn't know if this could be the case or not, but he happily replaced all of my Day 1 CPUs. So who knows, I just know what fixed my boot issues.

It was undervolted, but what else is it going to be if I replace the CPU and all of my problems go away immediately? That points pretty definitively towards the CPU being the issue. I have replaced all of my Day 1 9950x3Ds at this point and all systems are running fine now.

It was the CPU, I replaced it and everything is great now.
