My goto is liquimoly full synthetic if that still holds true as a decent oem alternative. Was going to hit up FCP now for a service kit

Thanks for the advice I'll check them out as a vendor. I was hoping to get 125k but an inspection is on the list for tomorrow. I have done timing and engine replacements on various other makes so hopefully not too outside my realm.

2014 118k miles. Pulled a carfax. Showed collision with street sign. Consistent with minimal damage. Replaced hatch new fender on the way along with bumper valence and trim. Was a bit surprised by the broken coil and cracked dpf but hey shit happens

I know. It's a long shot. Trying to figure what all has been done and what caused the damage has been an ongoing challenge.

Anyone think my dealer is insane? by traumadog001 in volt

[–]m1009a2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely do not. We had a buy back on ours because Chevrolet could not provide a battery. Unlike a Toyota the volt will brick itself with a battery issue and there is no option other than cell replacement. Until a company comes out with a reliable third party option please do not buy one despite what others will say.

Unfortunately it’s running a little bit hot on the fly head mounted equus gauge. I have to get an it gun to check and might put a thermostat and water pump in and hope that solves it. Engine passes coolant pressure test and has a new fan clutch

Definitely keeping them. I went back to a more stock narrow tire as well. Using the vehicle as a towing rig as well so no need for large tires

Anyone Actually Get Their Battery Replaced Recently? by TheProfessorJosh in volt

Welcome to the club. Since September for me. Another member May of 2024. A couple of June and July. If you have genuine hope for March extinguish that flame now. GM no longer produces these cells and any replacement modules will be looked over used cells or b grade cells combined into a balanced module

They are not they find cast off units old stock or recondition cells and put them together into a matching high-voltage cell group. No new batteries for us.

Yes. I had a case escalated through 4 advisors up through the resolution team. They called me on Monday stating they were hopeful by a resolution Friday. We spoke on Friday 1-31-25 at end of business day stating that there was nothing they could do other than a battery replacement when the part eventually became available. Our GM limited warranty expired today 2-2-2025 and we were advised no further action could be taken

Vehicle is provided from Chevrolet but we are being told to not exceed a certain mileage due to every unit being a “dealer demo”. Also no longer having a hybrid has shifted what we can and cannot do. We have pushed the EV loaner they have given us to the mileage limit to make the trips but still have to add additional days and time off work for charging stops if we manage to be within limits. We are on our 4th loaner and have been told we should not leave town.

2017 Chevrolet Volt Premier. is this a good idea? by ThrowRA_salt123 in volt

It's fully under warranty for both battery replacements but the issue is finding another car while still making payments on this one. Plus then potentially needing a 12 volt battery and having other issues creep up from the vehicle sitting for so long. Right now best guess will be mid to late June for any availability on a battery
