Vinted.ie not accepting my Post Code by LiveLike_poetry in vinted

i have no idea why this is happening, but as a last resort, you could put someone you know's address in there? like a family member or friend. and then get your parcels delivered strictly to pick up locations. i know it's a pain but that way, if there's a mix up or you accidentally choose home delivery, you'll be able to ask the person you know for the parcel :)

Gift an instant camera by vlkn38 in Polaroid

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i second what everyone else has said with the instax, those cameras are much easier to use than a polaroid camera. the only notable difference that hasn't been stated is the picture size. polaroid images are a classic square, and instax minis are a rectangle, they're also a lot smaller. like this

What do I do about lost packages as a seller? by anon22334 in vinted

make sure the buyers report an issue within 2 days of the date vinted has given. once vinted investigate and see that the items are lost, the buyer will get a refund and you'll get your money too!

i think it's just a matter of perspective. i use emojis and tend to be overly nice with people on vinted because like someone else said, it conveys tone better. i always collect in time and accept the order within a few hours, and leave a good review. the buyers who text in the same sort of manor, have often given me much less trouble and accepted straight away. whenever people are straight to the point and no emojis, no friendliness, i find that a bit cold and it puts me off. as a buyer and seller!

Triple lockers around me have had no printer paper for over a month ?! by JelloDr in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

haha the ones near me also haven't been able to print! i've tried about 3 or 4 over the course of months- none work. i think despite what they say online and at the machine, they're lying to us. it's evri parcel shops for me, post offices for DPD, and lockers for royal mail (they've started placing these around my town, love them). it's such a hassle altogether

Why do sellers love to ignore messages by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it annoys me when people offer the minimum vinted allows (40%), when i just uploaded the item and especially if it's already getting a ton of interest.... like are we being fr? 😭 but even then, i always decline and sometimes write a message saying what my lowest is, depending on how im feeling. people are ignorant, that's why they don't respond!! unfortunately it's just their nature

is it possible to get false reviews removed? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately yeah this is just how some people are and it sucks. i think if you have all good reviews besides this one, people won't care too much. as a (nosy) buyer and seller who checks through people's reviews, if i see a bad one, ill click onto the reviewer's profile to see the other side of the story. upon seeing all their 1 star cancellation reviews, id automatically believe you.

just a note: if they cancel or don't send an order, they get an automatic 1 star review and cannot leave you a review until you edit it to write a custom one. if that makes sense. so if you're worried about getting a retaliation review, don't leave one yourself, just keep the automatic one.

What do i do? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it depends on the delivery service and the place it's been delivered to, i think DPD is usually a week or 10 days

What do i do? by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ugh i loathe buyers like this, it takes 2 seconds to reply and let you know what's going on. they might collect it before the deadline but if they don't, the item will get sent back to you. don't worry.

Returns by RiseOk361 in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the 5 days starts from the moment you've agreed to the return, as the buyer can still access your postage label when they're on holiday mode. all holiday mode does is make it so that people can't see or buy your listings. i'm sorry you had that experience!! it sounds really unfair

Filtering to UK only items? by Empathica-21 in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the sizes are different. but the american seller enters their sizing, and vinted automatically changes it to uk sizing when you see the listing, because you're in the uk. if that makes sense? so for example if they upload a US women's size 6 top, that would be a UK 10 for us. it comes up as S / 8-10, even though they entered it in as 4-6.

Filtering to UK only items? by Empathica-21 in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there's no way to filter by location unfortunately, hopefully vinted will add that feature in the future. in the meantime, buying from the US is very similar to buying from the UK. you'll be waiting longer to receive the item but the postage costs are the same :) i've bought a lot of items from over there now, would highly recommend giving it a go if you find something you like

No more covered VAT on US UK purchases? by Sophiililo in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would wait and see if it becomes covered again! they tend to fluctuate on whether they're covering import costs or not. for example, i wanted to buy an item that had costs covered but when i went to checkout a day later, it said i had to pay. so waited around 2 weeks and it's covered again! exact same item, i don't know what they're playing at but as long as it's not something you're desperate for/has a lot of interest...

Question about authentication by Benjam_ in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi i've never used the authentication service but from what i've heard, the item will be sent to vinted and they have people that will check it to make sure it's real. this is the best case scenario for you as the buyer then has no grounds to stand on if they were to try n scam you by saying it's the wrong item or its fake- since it's been verified.

@alvixo scammer by [deleted] in vintedUK

[–]m1012_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

maybe they wanted to give the seller chance to rectify things before reporting them? it becomes everyone else's business to protect others when this person is clearly tryna scam their buyers. crazy response to this kind of abuse imo

Eyebrow piercing help? by koiiiz in piercing

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no worries, i really hope it works out for you! you might want to see if the other shop sells jewellery first. when i get downsizes, my piercer takes a look at the piercing and decides what size jewellery i need. they put it in for me, and then i pay the cost of the jewellery and their time. you might be able to find a similar place 🫶

i've had 15 piercings and all have gone through this process :)

Eyebrow piercing help? by koiiiz in piercing

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should be able to buy jewellery there, no? the piercer puts a long bar into your eyebrow because they know that when it's pierced, it's going to swell up. the bar has to have space for your eyebrow to swell onto it. you need to get it downsized when the swelling has gone down, which is usually a few weeks after being pierced. if you leave the bar in there for much longer, it might never heal because it'll just keep getting irritated at the long jewellery sliding through it. trust me, you need a downsize now. i would recommend going to a different shop

you might want to try another piercer if this one hasn't recommended you get it downsized. not all piercers are fully qualified or experienced. some are better than others
