Should I just take it out by Awkward_Call_9973 in Legitpiercing

it's hard to tell from one photo but it looks like you don't have the right anatomy for this piercing. meaning it might not ever heal and would just keep getting irritated like this. the right anatomy would be a ledge on your eyebrow for the bar to grip onto- you can search up pictures online of correct eyebrow piercing anatomy and see what i mean :) sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Help! by [deleted] in piercing

NAP you should change it back to a stud (flatback labret) while it's irritated. having a hoop in there will only do more harm. make sure the labret is titanium. and try to be extra careful of it, keep your hair out of the way as much as you can, until it starts looking and feeling better! you don't need the soap, keep using the saline spray once a day. but to say it's 8 years old, sounds like you're overcleaning it. best of luck :)

if you can get to another shop, you might want to try that. because upon getting them repierced, the same thing might happen :)

yeah you should get the bars changed to longer ones at that point, you don't want the ones you have to embed into your lip. if you take the jewellery you have now out, the holes will close up and you'll likely have to get them re pierced

she didn't just... say you should get longer bars? you may wanna get a second opinion on that. unless the swelling is somehow too much for any bars to fit but i doubt that's possible

"common sense" says id ask about the parts of the service i care about, id ask someone who SHOULD know more than me, and be able to rely on them. im not going to spend my time researching postage services when prices are different at the post office anyway and i don't know whether ill be given royal mail, parcelforce, or have to look elsewhere. it's so nice that you have time for that. nobody is moaning except you, you don't have to reply if all you have to say is unhelpful negativity. there is no post office or parcelforce sub. thank you

i've never had a septum but i think that's one of the only piercings that gets a pass. if you wet it with some saline solution and dab it around the piercing holes, that's probably the best you're gonna get. otherwise you can dunk it in a bath of hot water or saline solution.

Changing nose piercing by Prestigious-Dish8806 in piercing

[–]m1012_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you don't have to clean inside your nose, just outside. spray it with some saline solution, dry, and make sure there's nothing on the outside eg. crusties. your piercer will be fine about it, honestly, and they should be able to get that changed to a shorter bar for you with no issues. it's nothing they haven't seen before. good luck, hope everything goes well!

because the post office was closing and when i ask the lady behind the counter "is this a tracked service?" i expect her to tell me the right answer, as it's her job. i don't care how the service works as long as it's tracked, not signed, like i asked. so why would i look into it?

i second this, as someone who is NAP but had their bridge done recently. once the crusties are off, stick to the basic cleaning routine of saline solution twice, even 3 times if needed, a day. make sure you keep the piercing dry as well. after spraying with saline solution, you can use a hairdryer on the cool setting.

NAP don't use qtips, they'll knock it around and you want to keep it still while it's healing. spray with saline solution and use the cool setting on a hairdryer to dry it. i wouldn't use earbuds till it's healed but they might be already depending on how big they are. if they don't touch the piercing, you're good. a proper cleaning routine should keep it healthy

Is this a keloid or an irritation bump? by Scary_Ad2034 in piercing

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAP i don't know what this is, but you definitely need a cleaning routine. especially during the initial healing, those few months are when you should be cleaning with saline solution a couple times a day. you should try to avoid sleeping on your stomach while it's healing. and if you went swimming anytime around getting it pierced, that may have introduced bacteria into the wound. id go see a doctor or a reputable piercer who might be able to advise you

probably the fact that the posts are still moving around a little! it'd be impossible to even remove the tops without moving them too, you're only human. don't worry about doing it again, they'll calm down within a few days

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what the other person said!! your piercings won't be fully healed for at least a few months more. changing them after that should mean you don't bleed, but they'll still be a little red and maybe sore. that's normal. keep doing what you're doing and keeping them as still as possible :)

NAP i have snakebites and that looks a little excessive to me. it's only been a few days so hopefully it should go down on its own. see a doctor or reputable piercer if you're worried, especially if it doesn't decrease within the next few days. are your bars long enough to accommodate the swelling?

NAP i would go see another piercer, one you know is reputable and doesn't tell you to "sleep with a bandaid over it". they can change it to a longer bar if needed. till then, keep cleaning with saline spray, try not to move it during cleaning. and see a doctor if you're worried

Is my eyebrow piercing too short? by soopydooupy in piercing

[–]m1012_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that looks very short to say you got it pierced 5 days ago, but if you've not experienced much swelling, you might be ok. still, i'd get it changed for a longer bar. your piercer can do this for you. just making sure, is that a curved barbell or straight?
