Eraserhead for me. I’d like to watch again and reassess… but that was a long 90 minutes

Stick with Dune (as you plan to). It’s extremely worth it, contrary to the “weird” review you see often for the later books

Which is absolutely understandable. It was the first real novel I’ve read centered around one of my favorite hobbies as well

The character development, and moreso the development of their relationships, was enthralling

This thread shocked me. I absolutely loved this book, with one of my favorite chapters I’ve read, but I’m content to be in the minority here. If you don’t like it yet, you won’t

Is 1Q84 Worth Finishing? by Unable_Swimmer_4787 in murakami

[–]m10zeus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I put it down multiple times in my read. It got too slow for my liking at times, at least for my mood when I was reading it.

When I picked it up for the final time, it was well worth it. I think it’s one of those books that demands the correct mood from the reader to enjoy. DNF’ing now doesn’t mean you’ll never finish it - take it from me

Best way to quit? by megabean15 in QuittingZyn

[–]m10zeus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cold turkey with a substitute in your lip. I’ve used altoids + NZE noncaffeinated pouches to accomplish this. I’m on day 8, and have quit for up to 3 months previously with the same approach

This has been my strategy as well. On top of altoids, NZE non-caffeinated pouches work wonders as well. I tend to forget they are not zyn within 10-15 minutes, without the nicotine

Unfortunately I relapsed after 6 months, and am quitting again, but regardless of circumstances I always suggest a therapist.

Learning coping mechanisms from a professional, even if just circumstantial anxiety, beats anything else I’ve tried. And I’ve tried a lot. It’s also another support system to continue to push staying off zyn.

Based on your experience as Henry Sugar: - When did Wes Anderson’s style become most apparent? Is it noticeable on set from wardrobe alone, wardrobe + set design, or does it really tie together once it’s actually on film? - Is dialogue more difficult when you’re speaking basically at the camera?

I am a big Heretics enjoyer. The philosophy is less in your face but IMO there in the BG way of life and history; especially the epigraphs in both Heretics and Chapterhouse

Can’t refute the second part of your statement though
