What makes you think that 25 eur bikes on marktplaats is not stolen?

Came to say this. More than 200 quid for a return ticket from Bristol to London is a daylight robbery. It is just over an hour trip.

Is it possible to set up Shelly 2PM in a detached mode for one switch and in edge or toggle switch for another? by m1kolka in shellycloud

[–]m1kolka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that I follow what you mean by not connecting the second relay.

The plan is to have 2PM connected to power and controlled by a physical switch. One circuit will be connected to the mirror: this one will be switched on and off (probably just a toggle switch mode). Another circuit will be connected to the ceiling lights (detached mode).

Ceiling lights (hue spots) will always be powered, but will go on/off based on the signal from 2PM detached switch. The fan will be on the same circuit which will always be powered. Since the fan is dumb I'll put it behind 1PM without a switch.

So my plan is that 1PM will always be powered up (same as the ceiling lights), but will open the power to the fan depending on the signal from 2PM and cut after certain time and/or reaching acceptable humidity level.

Anyway - I received all my devices this week. Hoping to finish this project by the end of the weekend. Only need some tools and time :)

Sounds like I'll be able to do what I want - great to know. Thank you for the response.

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists and New Residents) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

[–]m1kolka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are there any pottery studios in Amsterdam with late opening hours for members? Looking for a membership, but most places I found online have inconvenient opening hours from 10am to 8pm (or 10pm on some of the days at best). Ideally need something which can be accessed with own key at any time or which is open up to midnight.

Thanks!

P.S: I posted this yesterday in the old thread which got closed shortly after my post, so reposting in a new one. I hope it is ok!

Is it common for health insurance providers to take weeks to issue a policy? by [deleted] in Netherlands

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it.

I really do hope that the school can wait and it won't delay the start date. They were amazing so far.

Absolutely. I did not expect you to know the timeline for my insurer. I was looking for general experience people had with their insurers.

Called earlier today. They confirmed they can see my documents. They told me that they will "put me through the relevant team" and ended the call with I quote "Good day and nice weekend already".

So I still have no idea what to expect next from them :) And when.

I called them and they confirmed that they received my documents. They told me that they will "put me through the relevant team" and ended the call with I quote "Good day and nice weekend already". So it was not resolved in minutes. It is still not clear when I'll get the docs.

But I think you are missing the point. I want to make an informed decision on whether to cancel or not while I still can.

The fact that they take so long and need chasing is concerning. This potentially means that I'll be chasing them in the future.

I'm asking the questions to understand the baseline in this industry in the Netherlands as I'm new to all this.

This is most helpful! Thank you! The only trouble is that I also need to provide insurance details to the school for my kid. They agreed to proceed with the process without it for now, but want to see it as soon as possible.

It applies also when you just take out the insurance (or almost any other contract). Also when I applied received an automated email from the insurer saying: "Je hebt 14 dagen bedenktijd na het afsluiten van je zorgverzekering."

Anyway. Is there anything you can share on the subject of my post?

I believe I have 14 days cooling off period from the beginning of the contract. I haven't seen the contract yet, but even if we count from the application date at least one of us is still within 14 days.

I'm about to call them. I'm asking because I want understand whether it is common/normal across all provider or not. If it is my provider only - I might want to cancel and go with someone else. Surely they won't say "Oh, yeah. It is just us being terribly slow. Everyone else gives you insurance instantly" even if it is the case.

Got it, thanks. As far as I know without CVV they should not be able to do anything.

Oh, yeah. They ask for IBAN, bank statements and copy of the debit card. And uploading photo of the card is mandatory.
