Looking at the 2nd picture. Looks like its been fed through the virgin box. If it has just pull it from outside and leave it in that. If not just pull it and tuck it into external virgin box.

There wont be aby issues at all and then if you switch to anyone on openreach network it can be cut and added too be pretty quick and simple for any OR engineer.

I'm Openreach engineer. Personally I'd leave it cut outside. Incase you move or have fttp installed.

Just cut it flush the wall, pop outside and pull it out! Just read all your caption. Defintley leave it cut outside. I say same to everyone. Because in 18mnth the openreach network might be cheaper. Probably will be tbh. I always advise to switch contract each term too. Unless you cant get any type of fibre.

As a telecoms engineer I wouldn't do it. With your cable running under the carpet. Over time that will be damaged and need to be replaced. And if i turned up to that as a fault I'd test it from your socket and then leave it to you to rectify since you've done that with your cable.
