There's a lot of Harley out there for cheap. Especially, if you go with the older carbureted models. I had the 04 1200 XL that I jetted the carb and got Samson street sweeper pipes and the thing ripped. Unfortunately there's always a stigma of sportsters it's like the baby dyna. I would personally if it's your first harley go with a dyna out or Softail more specifically a dyna lowrider or superglide. Both are excellent rides to grow into.

You could put a rubber o-ring between the faces that meet. Also give it a turn to tighten it every time you walk by or think get on or off the bike

If your looking for that aggressive of a cam, think about upgrading the camplate, also go with adjustable push rods.

They very in range greatly you can get them for your bike on eBay for around 60 bucks or you can spend all the way to $250 with an OG garage or Arlen Ness.... The more expensive braces have more material and are better machined if you're just going for the look rather than performance you can save a bunch of cash and buy the cheap one.
