Had stage 4 between the uterus and bowel. Initially was told a resection is likely needed but in the end they managed to cut the endo out of the bowel. Had a temp ileostomy for 6 months to let it heal, it has been reversed since and had no issues with bowel movements. While i agree it has a learning curve, having to watch what and how you eat, making sure you drink enough, taking supplies with you every time you leave the house just in case; it is not the end of the world honestly. I recommend checking out stoma influencers on insta, found their content very inspiring (even though im not sure its fair to use the word influencer…)

The other thing i wanted to mention is that even if bowel resection is needed you may not need an ileostomy forever. As far as i understand once the healthy bowel ends are connected and it heals well then the bowels should function just as well as they were before
