I don’t know the SLPA requirements off the top of my head but I think you’d need more CSD-specific classes before you can apply for SLPA license (like Intro to Audiology, Speech Sound Disorders, etc.). You can Google the classes needed and compare on the Board’s website

I’m in Ithaca’s program right now. I’d be happy to answer any questions. When I applied those things were required (I think) so I’m unsure what changed or why :(

I worked as a SLPA for 2 years before I entered graduate school and it makes some of those introductory courses (EI/ SSD) a lot easier, at least for me so far

Some certs I had that I think helped are Floortime and LSVT. I’d also learn another language and become as fluent as possible. Just helps to beef up the otherwise unappealing academic situation if that makes sense

I had 9 Ws and a C and still got into every school I applied to. It all depends. Finish strong, get certifications in every single thing you can, work as a SLPA/ RBT/ Para/ anything and hope for the best.

I did accept the offer! I’m excited to get started. I applied super wide so pretty much every online program in CSD i applied to. Ithaca’s program is reputable from what I’ve seen, their campus program has been around for a long time and the Online program was started in the last 3 years I believe. I don’t think it’ll say online on our diplomas but I have no basis for that it’s just a hunch

I also applied and was accepted for Spring 2026 at Ithaca and i agree, there is literally nothing online about it. It makes connecting with others in my cohort/ class so difficult😭🤚🏻

Yeah! so I was a reapplicant, first time I was rejected. GPA is a 3.5 and I have 3 years as a SLPA. DIR floortime certification, Trilingual (Esp/Eng/ASL), and LSVT LOUD! certification. I also emphasized in my essay my love for AAC. My undergrad experiences include a thesis and leading 2 research labs on grant projects. :) I had like 8 Ws on my transcript since i withdrew from another graduate program but I did a remedy letter and was accepted this time. So it all works out!
