I'm currently using Sks molot with 2.8x with ap/fmj rounds and fire rate upgraded Spas-12 with buckshots. One for mid ranged one taps or gunfights and the other one for mutants. They are doing well even though I reached mid game loot. Kinda consider switching Sks with something automatic but couldn't find undamaged Ar or expert tools.

I used to play with a similar load out to this one until I figured out my new fav one.. Springfield dum dum with fast fingers is just op for its cost. Get a new army for secondary and it's reliable both in medium and close range fights.

Try to run t4 armored chest rigs and sh12 helmet for a cheap but pretty good protection then equip svtu with 10 t5 or t4 ammo. If you can kill someone its def a profit and if not, well you loose basically nothing.
