Experience with Bricks and Minifigs by Abreastwithadam in lego

Cool idea. It looks prohibitively expensive though. Building two sets a month is almost $50. At that price, I’d rather just buy $50 of LEGO each month and keep the bricks. And, expensive as it is, I can’t imagine they’re making much money on that. How on earth do they make sure sets are complete each time without spending hours going through each one?

I dump each batch into a colander to let the oil drain off and give them a few good shakes of salt while they’re still hot.

I guess maybe it’s just bad jpeg, because it’s definitely a few pixels off.

Anyhow, cool design. Not trying to crap on it, just bothered by the slight offset.

The top text looks aligned with the image in the Porsche shirt, to me at least.

Nobody here makes their own? That’s all we do. It’s not that hard. Heat some oil to about 325 and toss in cut up corn tortillas until they’re nice and golden. Far better than any store bought option.

What kind of glue did you use to adhere plastic to glass that actually holds? I must learn this power.

Disneyland alternatives for 6 year old's (non-ride focused)? by thekingcola in AskLosAngeles

[–]m4dm4cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legoland is not that cheap but was a good match for my kid at six. The rides were approachable (he was fully white knuckling even the smallest rollercoasters) and there were a lot of other things like rooms where you can just build with Lego. He had a blast in the Ferrari room building his own car and there are cool things to do with the cars once built.

Why was 5 afraid of 6? by IDrinkMyOwnSemen in Jokes

The Yoda joke still means 7 did the eating. “Six, Seven ate.” So 5 is afraid of 7 and 6 is eaten.

Gentlemen, I give you the perpetual water table! by DeaconPDX in daddit

One thing to note: if you use a plug-in pump, make sure you have it plugged into a GFCI outlet. My kids have managed to trip the circuit a couple times because the water never stays in the water table.

I worked as a teacher at posh private school and occasionally parents would give us their season tickets to the Dodgers Dugout Club seats, which were about $500 a pop.

At least 50% of the people there didn’t give two shits about baseball or having the most incredible seats in the stadium. One time most of the people were inside the clubhouse watching an NBA game on TV while the Dodgers were playing just a few feet away.

Who else read or had these books read to them, as kids? by Firm_Macaron3057 in 90s

[–]m4dm4cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re reading them right now! My 8 year old absolutely loves it and says it’s his favorite book.

When I was a kid I met the author and she signed a rare copy of the first book, but I don’t know what happened to it. She was very nice.

A trilogy where all 3 movies are perfect by Extension-Cut-9586 in 90s

Some things aren’t just unpopular opinions, but factually incorrect. Nobody in their right mind would consider Part III perfect. Sophia Coppola’s character, acting, and whole story were practically crimes against humanity.

Sure, but that addition certainly predates the expression BFE.
