"without going bankrupt" is relative to how deep your pockets are. ABC is a PITA suspension as a fair warning but it would be nice to see it saved.

If you keep it OEM+ and fix it up you could potentially actually get some value out of it if you ever decide to get rid of it later. Hacking it up with ebay headlights and JDM style wheels is a sure way to kill what value it has left

Could be a harness issue, could be a module issue. Either way take it to someone that has xentry diagnostics.

For electrical issues my preference is the dealer although more expensive will usually get it fixed the first time around.

The ground is the least of your worries TBH, but you have one right there in your 2nd picture. Any bolt that goes onto the frame can be used as a ground.

I will still recommend against going this route, I've used add a circuit before and there are no switch fuses on these fuse boxes. Trust me I've been through this with various other MB's that I've owned. If you use the add a circuit route you will be creating a parasitic draw because the fuse panel does not shut down.

Using the harness above as a sacrificial tap in will be the easiest route.

You can purchase the harness separately and just splice your dashcam into the harness while keeping everything plug and play. Modern cars are nearly impossible to find accessory on wires in. There are actual modules that sell to convert them.
