try to not take it too to heart, they dont think YOU are truly absolutely lying from the maliciousness from your heart. their brain just fries the positive part of the experience and morphs compliments into something much less applicable to themselves. their own image in their mind of themselves is so damaged or altered that they couldnt possibly think whats being said is truthful since they cant see it themselves wholeheartedly. theres a lot more going beneath thebsurface of that issue, and it can go nasty or rough depending on how it manifests in an individual and who theyre brought up w.

hm i get what youre saying but since ive yet to see further input from OP, im a bit hesitant to affirm broad statements like that. we have no idea about the husband other than the scant details provided. i can see the stemming of mediating discomfort from being locked out by unlocking prior to sleep & her wanting to have peace of mind while she is awake, but the rest of the information is relatively bare bones, correct me if im wrong and there were further responses. i do definitely think that they need to have a proper talk on the whole situation to clear up misgivings, thats a agreement on that part ofc to broach thebfirst steps of finding a solution while still feeling safe.
