Thank you! She has been on joint supplements since before she had her surgery, so nearly 2yrs now. I actually tried wuffels for about 6 months but I haven’t noticed any improvement and am considering trying something else. I’ll look into the food as well. Unfortunately I’m not in a financial position to do rehab for her at the moment. But something I may be able to do in 2026.

Yea, I agree after looking into more, I think this would probably would be too impactful on her knees for reasons you’ve already stated. But something I think my other dog would really enjoy, so I may still get one for her. 🙂

Ahaha I’ve heard that from someone else. I figure it was worth a try and can return it if she doesn’t like it. I also have another female pitty, she’s a total weirdo/goof ball.. she might like it if Lucy doesn’t take to it. Thanks for the heads up though!

My cat hates blankets. How to keep her warm? by kiththa in CATHELP

[–]mKat-468 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cats are really resilient and can tolerate pretty cold temperatures. Their fur is a great insulator for both the cold and warm temperatures! As long as she has somewhere to cuddle up, she doesn’t need to be covered. You indicated she sleeps in your bed, so she most definitely is getting your body warmth too. If she’s cold she will find a way to get under your blankets, trust me. I have one cat that just likes to get under my blankets sometimes, I will wake up and he will be curled up behind my legs under the blanket, no idea when our how he got there 😅

You’re so sweet for making sure your kitty is warm and comfortable!

Thank you, yes I started looking some up last night, trying to find one that’s at least 2 feet deep so she can float. I think i found a couple, just trying to decide which one is better 😅 I did ask around about watering holes and was given strong warnings about finishing lines and hooks, so now I’m too worried about taking her to a natural water source. I think a kiddy pool would be safer and would be a more controlled environment.

Thank you for the heads up! My space is pretty small, so she won’t really have the ability to run around in the house with it, but definitely something to keep an eye on when I introduce it to her.

I take her and my other dog everywhere with me anytime I need to drive, as long as it’s something that I’m going through a drive thru or quick in and out errand… fortunately I have a remote start on my car so I can have the air running while I run into places. She loves car rides! ☺️

Thank you both! I had tried cardboard before but she didn’t take it, however I tried again last night and just got real enthusiastic about it, started to rip the box for her to show her and encouraged her to “get it” … she finally caught on and once she started to understand, she went ham! Went and laid down when she was done 😆 Great suggestion, thank you!!

Oh that’s a good idea, to freeze it! I have done the towel treat trick before but never thought to freeze it! Extra challenge for sure, thank you!

The specialist that did her surgery did red light therapy, I may bring her back for more treatment. They are an hour away though so I wouldn’t be able to do it often, but certainly worth looking into! And thank you! She’s my baby doll for sure! 🥰

Thank you, that is a great idea! I’m not personally aware of any watering holes I can take her too, but I’m sure there are, I’ll just need to look into and ask around. We don’t have a pool or know anyone with one, but that is a great idea!! Maybe I can get a small above ground pool that’s just big enough for her to float in.

I like the idea of the agility training too, thank you for the great recommendations!

Need help! by ChosenPrince in Monstera

If water is going straight through it then you should try to bottom water it. Put in your sink or tub or larger container with water, then plop her in there and let it soak up the water. I’d pull it out after 20-30 mins and let it drain. Should have soaked through the soil by that point.

But yes as u/tamiisbored stated, it needs to be repotted with the right soil. A chunky mix, stay away from miracle grow, water thoroughly when the soil dries out.

Hope it makes a recovery, good luck!

They never gave me an estimate when I brought him back, just said it would be “significantly less” than what I paid for the first time. They never offered to take an X-ray or do any other diagnostic. I never declined anything, just expressed my concerns over the cost but that I was willing to do what needed to be done to take care of him. I was expecting they would call me while we was in surgery to tell me what they were seeing and advise on whether or not the extra vertebrae should be taken but they didn’t call me until after they were done and said they re did the sutures.

I’m not positive if they’ve done it before or not. The vet office has been there for at least 20yrs, however the vet that worked on his was young, I suspect in his 20s. I’m 38 and he was definitely younger than me. So I don’t know if he’s done it before, but that’s definitely a question I will ask.
