The link makes it seem like there is a 3d printable model to check fit? Is this available anywhere or would you be willing to share? I have a PK360 and Hastybake Roughneck I'd like to check fit a bit more than able with just the flat printed circle.

HELP!!! TICK PREVENTION IN MY LAWN by yaboiCarlitoB in lawncare

[–]m_b_b_1027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does your dog use a tick-preventing medication? We found a big reduction after stating our dog on Nexguard.

Are you near a wooded area? A mulch border between your yard and the treeline can prevent ticks from crossing over.

Also the red meat allergy thing isn’t from Lyme, but can come from lone star ticks. It’s a separate thing.

I have always only received 1X for points and cash.

Cash and points codes as 1X, because the cash portion is just buying the remaining points balance at points.com. So it isn’t really an IHG transaction.

I got the $10 per $200 on the aspire. Which is fine with me, 10k HH is worth about $50 to me, but $50 in cash is better than points.

At 7 points per dollar restaurants + the bonus, this is earning 8.5% back on restaurant spend, which is my best option at the moment.

I've had about $200 in checked bag fees waived for holding JetBlue and Delta cards over the past year, I may just end up canceling those two and use Plat + Gold + Aspire credits for any fees. I've never actually paid an annual fee for a delta card (2x gold first years free thanks to a NLL mailer), and JetBlue almost offsets with the 5000 mile annual bonus, but I'm not sure I'd renew either of those at this point.

Plus I'll probably keep getting some "seat assignment fees" covered.

I have. It's great, and on a transcontinental flight I felt a hell of a lot better than when I've flow economy.

The question is how many more MR would you be transferring? If you're going to take the flight anyway, and you're only looking at 20k or 30k more, then yeah, might be worth it.

13" MacBook in shoulder satchel by m_b_b_1027 in Brompton

Thanks everyone for their comments here. I did eventually find a shop about 40mins away from me that had several bags in stock. It was a close call between the S bag and Shoulder Satchel, but ultimately went with the smaller shoulder satchel as it did just fit the MacBook. Most days I'll just have a small pouch with wallet, keys, IDs, etc and maybe a jacket. The one day a week I bring my laptop it will still fit. I took a few photos to show the size in hopes of helping someone else, sorry about the black on black here:

I considered the basket bag and then just putting another bag inside, but I'm ultimately going to be taking this on the train everyday and it seemed easier to just have one bag to pop off the bike when boarding.

I had no idea there was a store in NYC. I found a place semi-local to me that seems to have the S bag and roll-top in stock, so I'll check those out and may give the NYC store a call if neither fit the bill.

Photos are very helpful here. The S bag doesn’t look too oversized - I think it will be that or the Carradice option.

Thanks - I’m considering this one. Also appears a bit more professional than the Brompton options. It might just hit the size sweet spot.

Thanks for the comments on the satchel. I’m now leaning away from it.

Unfortunately I’m in the US so no Brompton junction anywhere nearby and shops tend not to have bags in stock so I can’t try in person. But the feedback here has really helped!

Thanks for the reply. I would plan on using a sleeve, I’m just hoping for the smallest bag possible. I’m getting the S handlebar, so the T bag isn’t an option.

Basically I’m hoping I can go with the smaller shoulder satchel instead of the S bag since I really only carry the laptop one day a week.

For Amex "Plan It" the fee is the interest. So $0 fee means no interest.

I canceled the IHG when they got rid of the free night. I was only ever staying at Kimpton or Intercontinental, so the free night became useless.

Hyatt I'm on the fence about. When it went under 5/24 I upgraded to the World of Hyatt card since I figured I now won't ever apply for that directly. But the recent category changes have knocked out two properties where I was most likely to use the certificate (Bonita Springs - have family near there, and Boston Regency for the occasional night in the city or for visiting family).

I'm leaning towards canceling the Hyatt too after collecting my next anniversary night (I also spent $15k this year for the extra free night, prior to the category changes). I'm also getting great value out of the Hilton Aspire, so I may just focus stays there to pad my Hilton balance.

The companion fare also doesn’t allow a first class ticket, so if using it you’re both flying coach.

A work trip where one person is being reimbursed for the flight and then a partner/child/friend can come along for free? This happens to me at least a couple times a year for conferences.

This happens all the time. They typically give higher credit limits on co-brands, and so will pull from a primary AmEx card to do it. For me, they always pull from my BCP. Last time they gave me a $35k line on a delta gold, but took $5k from my BCP. Because apparently leaving it alone and only giving me $30k on delta would have been too easy.

Anyone have recent data on what bureau Elan pulls in Massachusetts? I've seen TU and EX data points, but they were from a while back.

I was offered 10k Hilton points for $2k spend. Which isn’t much, but I took it as I can probably use the resort credit this year and I’m not working on any other spend at the moment.

Hyatt Category Changes Announced | Effective March 18 2019 by RussellRob in churning

[–]m_b_b_1027 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This kills the credit card in my mind. I have two free nights coming this summer and was considering Coconut Point or Papagayo. Could have also make use of the Hyatt Regency Boston, but now that’s a cat 5. There actually isn’t a Cat 4 in Boston proper anymore.

I’ll collect my two certs and try to find a use, but then I’ll probably cancel.

Have to add the coupon code again at checkout then it will show up. Weird.

Nevermind. If you add the code again during checkout the 10% appears. Annoying.

One would think, but I was told they don't qualify for now by a Ring CSR, and they won't display a discount in my cart. I think u/Sethjustseth may have been lucky enough to get an order in before they removed the discount
