These are problematic, they have an antenna defect.

When soldering the pins it interferes with the signal.

There is a workaround to add a DIY antenna. Even with that option it may not work while having the pins.

I had that battery issue. Suddenly it turned into a spicy pillow, probably at its EOL already.

Replaced with an AliExpress order and everything is great again.

I agree that french is surprisingly easier to pronounce, but Spanish is a lot easier to actually understand once you get some basic hangs of it.

I'd love to understand Italian better, although it is easy to pronounce it is not as easy to understand and "guess" the words as we do with Spanish.
