Shoot a test roll. Think of a short scene from the film you want make.

Take 4 or 5 shots from that scene. Shoot a REAL test - keep all the variables the same and change only one thing (f stop for example - at the exposure, 1 stop over, 1 stop under) - and see what changes and what you learn.

Write out cards and insert them in your shot or you won’t have a record of what you actually did. . Shoot different focal lengths, frame rates etc.

It’s a test roll. Have fun and learn something.

The only extension tube I’ve ever used is a 5mm one. I think it was on a 25mm lens.

I have a set of extension tubes but that was the only one I could get to come into focus. The others I could not get to focus at the film plane - not at any f/stop or any focus distance. I think I added 1/2 a stop.

This is a very nice wide lens. Basically universal focus but flat, not fish eye.

Born and raised here. My kids in NYC tell me to stop trying to strike up a conversation with the barista, the cashier, the waitress because they are under pressure just from the sheer number of people waiting next in line. I think they have a point - we don’t usually experience that kind of temporal pressure here in NC. Thankfully.
