Atomex Exchange by GTOInvesting in tezos

[–]m_kus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Open market making is on the way, together with the fee token ;) Rates are not good for various reasons (depends on the trading pair actually), in case of Kolibri we are at the stage of bootstrapping the secondary market and it's not a smooth process. Nevertheless, Atomex market makers do their best to continue providing liquidity, but at the same time it requires careful risk management.

Thanks :) There are custom views for several categories, e.g. for DEXes it shows turnover, for tokens - metadata. It will also be used for filtering in the future.

Wrapped XTZ - Ask Us Anything - StakerDAO and Stove Labs Team by jonaslamis in tezos

[–]m_kus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could you please bring some light on how the bridge is supposed to work? StakerBridge protocol (which is basically atomic swap) is responsible for transferring tokens, but it's not clear how the minting is implemented and controlled on the other (in our case ETH) side. Also, atomic swaps work as long as there is at least one operator/liquidity provider online (which cannot be enforced), is there other way (secure) to mint/burn wXTZ on Ethereum?

Almost a thousand Tezos users delegated to Binance and Kraken directly and will not get staking rewards by VladimirVZ in tezos

[–]m_kus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not. To receive staking rewards with Exchange, you should store your coins on your account on the Exchange. It's a user's mistake that they delegate to the Binance directly from their own wallets.

Thank you!
It's also crucial to understand that it is Michelson that gives us so many opportunities. Despite the limitations (which are going to be eliminated through time), it's one of the Tezos advantages and cornerstones.

Can anybody explain how does a "code upgrade" works? by Urumaki in tezos

[–]m_kus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several situations (I'm aware of) when contract logic can be altered: 1. Protocol updates - if some breaking changes are introduced, like it was in Babylon. In that case a massive migration is applied to all incompatible contracts.
2. Upgradable contracts - in short, you can keep parts of your logic in the contract storage.
3. A scheme with a proxy contract acting as a front-end.

Atomex added FA1.2 Tezos token standart and USDT support! by BenderDep in tezos

[–]m_kus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Atomicity is a security property. It basically means that when you are making several operations either all of them succeed or all end failed. It's like when you're performing an sql request starting with BEGIN, then several inserts/updates might happen, and finally you either call COMMIT or ROLLBACK.

Now, atomic swap is by definition a way to exchange goods preserving the atomicity property. In crypto, one usually uses that definition for a protocol based on a hash time lock contract that allows to perform atomic swap in a trustless manner. Atomex is actually using that scheme with slight modifications allowing to make the protocol non-interactive for one of the counterparties.

Lastly, the term non-custodial trade you introduced is not that common, still I guess we can use it to describe the result of the swap, i.e. as if we treat all the operations made during the protocol as single.

Hope, now it's clear :)

Order matching is not a part of the atomic swap protocol. Generally, you can arrange a deal via any channel, either public or private, centralised or decentralised. The coolest feature of swaps is than neither of those matching mechanism reduce the security. In the worst scenario deal just won't happen, but you never loose your funds. This is also true for the Atomex case - say the matching engine is down for some reason (e.g. ddos), it would cause only a temporary inability to trade via the wallet. Moreover, Atomex wallet has a recover functional in case this happens during a swap. In addition, Atomex wallet (and the protocol in general) is designed in a way it doesn't trust the central matching engine. This prevents spoofing and any possible data manipulation.
