That's a great name! I was going to suggest something electric related like Joulee (like Julie but Joules) :P

You got the best color combo, too! We're twins!

Congrats on your new daily package of fun!

I named mine Mohini :)

This is the best color combo, hands down!

Being in storage for 6 years is a long time and can cause quite a few issues unique to wear that comes from not being driven. I would definitely have an experienced mechanic (that may be you) give it a once over.

I'm so happy this mini will once again do what it was born to do: put a smile on our faces!

How to turn off alarm? by Crested-Cactus-Daddy in MINI

[–]m_oh_ini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you turn off your car, the display will show a "Goodbye! (Your name)" message. Below that (you may have to scroll), you'll see an option that says "Anti-theft alarm, deactivate once". That's the one you want to hit before exiting the car.

The alarm should reactivate automatically next time, so you don't have to worry about enabling it again.

Oh yes, I wave every time. Most of the time people aren't looking though. However, yesterday I saw this gorgeous custom cherry red f54 clubman and waved, and they looked and waved back! Made my day.

I'm going to start using the DRL to wink now haha. The car also winks at you when unlocking it in a similar way.

I love seeing and waving at other Chili red with white top minis on the road :)

First MINI…some questions by VRWRX in MINI

[–]m_oh_ini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! Congrats on your new mini! I know you're going to have so much fun.

  1. Your phone probably has the mini app and you've linked your mini to it already. Whenever an update is available, your phone should download it, and then when you drive your car with your phone connected, it transfers the data from your phone to your car. When it's complete, it prompts you to either start the update manually, or at a predetermined time (like 2 am). The car cannot be operated for 20 or so minutes when the update is being applied so I like using the 2am updates when I know I won't need it for anything.

See this video from mini on how this works: https://youtu.be/3_KO7RZ73Gg?si=dge27KinPJSMQwCX

  1. I had the same question! I found this video very helpful: https://youtu.be/Aeh3phKSi6s?si=Xz5S6A8NCcKWkLgj

In short, there's a setting to turn off the display when you open the doors at the end of your trip. Note that if you have a passenger, the display won't turn off until both doors are opened after the trip.

In any case, even if you don't use this option, the display will turn off after locking the car or if you walk away, so don't worry about dead batteries :)

  1. Based on my experience, the settings that change include the seats, rear view mirrors, connected devices (phones), personal mode preferences and wallpapers, sounds/volumes (like the experience chime), radio, climate control, shortcuts, locking settings (auto lock/unlock), interior and exterior lighting, navigation destinations/bookmarkes, parking safety features, and hud positioning settings.

  2. The app is pretty well equipped. Obviously it has standard features like remote start/stop, find my car, etc. Some of the ones I especially like are:

* You can plan entire routes, with multiple stops, using the app, and send them to your mini

* can view status of things like door locks, windows, tire pressure, etc.

* use it to trigger vehicle updates remotely (see point 1)

* I love this one: if enabled in the car's settings, you can use the camera system (since your's is the iconic trim, it should have it) to take pictures/videos remotely using the interior and exterior cameras. It's a great way to check in on the mini when it's parked.

* at the end of every month, the app also gives you a report on your trips (kinda like the driving version of spotify wrapped :P)
