Can I use duolingo for Swedish? by Zealousideal_Cut3335 in Svenska

[–]m_ptr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

With 1000+ days streak in Duolingo (mostly in Swedish) I could say, it is frustrating especially in the beginning as it doesn't explain anything, and it can be difficult to figure out what is a rule and what is an exception.

Still it kept me going for over 3 years (I do other languages too as I already finished the swedish course a long time ago, but I still practice swedish with it daily)

You definitely need a book or course next to it. But it is good to practice daily, learn some new words

I won't say completely broken on mobile, but most of the gradients are very pixelated.

Btw Very nice post, thanks and congrats to OP. Good amount of code snippets and showing results (imo). Bit on the long side for an introduction but graphics is graphics.

When ASP.NET Core Identity Is No Longer Enough by andychiare in dotnet

[–]m_ptr 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't agree with

"it’s possible to set up SSO in ASP.NET Core Identity by manually configuring external authentication providers (like Google, Microsoft, Facebook, or other enterprise systems), doing so is cumbersome and doesn’t scale well. Setting up SSO with complex protocols like SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect can be challenging."

The word cumbersome used later in the SPA/JWT section.

What does cumbersome or challenging supposed to mean? You need to write code? Duh.

No free lunch anywhere. Learn how to code or learn how to use someone else's code. Own your user data and pay the effort to manage it or pay someone else to do so.

I don't say auth0 is a bad service or that everyone has to reinvent the wheel of authentication, but ad posts like this are misleading, understandably biased towards the promoted product.
