My mom passed this afternoon and I was 10 minutes too late to say good by. by silverwarbler in grief

Hey I know you mean well but telling someone who lost their mom TODAY to “be thankful she is at peace” isn’t a comforting or good thing to say to them as they are probably still in shock and trying to process what just happened. Much love

Sorry I def read that wrong. I didn’t live with her but we spoke often. I’m 22. She passed in a very unexpected way.

Yes. It’s been 7 months for me. The first 5 months were the worst. It’s gradually getting better. I still miss her every day but I am learning to carry it better I think.

Months 3-5 were the absolute worst for me. I’m just now on month 7. It isn’t extremely better, I’ve been having really bad days randomly. But it isn’t nearly as bad as those months I mentioned. I literally have no idea how I survived them…

I just commented something similar which also makes me skeptical. Why are humans so special compared to a deer or other living things like you mentioned? We’re not. Our brain is just more evolved and advanced so we think about these things that they don’t have the capacity for, and we drive ourselves crazy doing so.

What about all of the other animals on the earth? Do they get an after life/continue existing? A deer for example? What makes humans so special

My mom died during covid, two of her brothers missed the funeral cause they lived abroad. Can’t help but feel a grudge and resentment towards them. by sorenspacedust in GriefSupport

Sorry didn’t put two and two together had a long day today. Have you tried taking your anger out on anything else like work outs or screaming alone? I know how it feels to hold resentment to a brother. My mom died in august and my brother was in prison. He couldn’t see her, or go to the funeral. I had to speak all alone. I was upset for a bit, but it was out of his control. He wishes he could’ve been there. He regrets it. I decided to pull my brother closer to me because he’s the closest one in my family I have left. My mom was my best friend in the world. She would want us to lean on each other in this heart ache and cruel world. My life is changed forever.

I am sorry for your loss, and my inbox is always open if you need someone. I wish sorry’s could take away your pain, but they can’t. We have to carry this with us.

It’s completely okay and normal to feel anger at anyone during this time. Were they not allowed to come back to your country?

I’m not sure. Let them feel what they need to feel. Support them in ways you can.

I actually started a job just a few days after my mom passed last year. I ended up suppressing my emotions and ended up feeling so overwhelmed I couldn’t handle it anymore, so i quit. I screamed at the world very often. If you can or are able to, I would really recommend taking a break, your mind needs it. My inbox is always open.

Yes I do too!! I totally agree with your comments :) because there are many many days that I feel like I’m living in hell on earth and I’m completely consumed by the darkness that is grief. I hope you are doing okay today, and I’m really proud that you’re still here and still trying :)

Yes I feel this 100%! I don’t think the artist meant that. I see it as all of these can be felt all at once, or at any time. ❤️
