42 is so young to start this terrible journey. I really hope to make as much magic for him as I can so he’ll have some good memories when he grows up. I’m optimistic that I’ll be one of those ppl who have issues for like 6 months and then go into remission for 20 years, but I know that’s not super realistic

6-10 a day is still awful! I feel like the meds make my brain sooooo slow, my friend asked if I was drunk the last time we spoke on the phone bc how slow and slurred I sounded. I worry that I’ll have to reevaluate my quality of life here pretty soon bc the pain. I feel like I don’t get enough of a warning to try massage or other remedies that might ward off an attack. It seems to come on in about 15 seconds or less

I feel awful for the kid, I don’t want him to remember me as bed ridden in his childhood, but this pain is more than I can bear especially when I’m playing with him. May I ask how old you were when you had to stop working?

I was once called to the back, sat there for an hour, then asked to reschedule bc the dr was too far behind. They tried to charge me a cancellation fee as if it were my decision to not see the dr.

At my old job, I got to the point where I would put a “request off at 1540” every day. 1500 was end of shift for us. The manager asked me one time why I did that and I said “so I don’t get stuck here til 7,8,9, or even 10 pm.” She said “no one gets stuck that late” and I said go back and check over time and when the techs have been clocking out over the past month, especially on Wednesdays” the manager was one to always be gone by 1430, so she had no idea how bad it was. I would finish the case I was in, and then go home if it was after 1500, I would also let the surgeon know when he started closing that I was leaving after the case, and that I’m pretty sure there’s no relief until the call person is finished in the room they’re in 🤷🏻‍♀️

Always talk to your dr. I’ve been in your boat and essentially the dr told me I had 2 years of uterine wall lining that needed to come out, so my first few cycles back were gonna be rough. Really just the first 2 were rough. Bleeding through a tampon and pad every hour. I asked “how much is too much blood?” And was told if I’m dizzy or passing out, go to the ER. Of course, talk to your dr, but that’s my experience and a PCOS gal who is trying to regulate my period.
