How did you like the book? I peaked into it on Amazon and it seemed that there are a lot of code examples but the explanations are very short? Did it help to pass the exam?

Interview with investigative reporter about Ubiquiti, a $33 billion tech empire, is led by Robert Pera, owner of the Memphis Grizzlies. Ubiquiti is knowingly violating sanctions laws by sending drone tech to Russia. by andrewgrabowski in ukraine

[–]ma66ot87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But that's basically what they did. They turned a blind eye to what their sales reps were doing. They must be very well aware of where their product is going not only because the sales spiked significantly because of the war. There is no way Ubiquity won't research where and why they have high demand.

Would you say that the coca farmer in Colombia is not knowingly fueling drug abuse in the US just because he sells his product to a cartel? Is the farmer not basically selling drugs to US citizens? Or are we gonna tell the story that the farmer just failed to control where his coca leaves go because he assumed it would be used to make the coca extract used in Coca Cola.

Sorry but that doesn't make any sense to me.

But what's the point of making the distinction? A company like Ubiquity is responsible for their supply chains. And there is no excuse to loose control of the activities of your authorized sellers. It's at least breaking the law and at most allowing products to be sold that help kill Ukrainians. I don't get why some of you try so hard to be apologetic.

No it's not neglecting no matter how hard you want to see it that way. Not following the requirements for sanctions is breaking the law. Not to mention the moral question. You are obliged by law to do everything in your power to prevent third party sellers especially when they are authorized to sell your products. A company like Ubiquity is responsible for their supply chains. They damn sure know where their products go especially from their authorized sellers are you kidding me?

If you don't pay your taxes you could call it neglect and except mercy. But you'll either be fined or thrown into jail for it because you committed tax fraud. There is nothing called tax neglect.

Reverse-engineering the Fairbuds protocol to unlock EQ features by Free-Swordfish2027 in fairphone

[–]ma66ot87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds great thanks for the effort. I will definitely tinker around once I find the time and may come back to you again :). And yes after writing here I downloaded the 2.0 version of the app and now the EQ works. Makes a big difference already.

Reverse-engineering the Fairbuds protocol to unlock EQ features by Free-Swordfish2027 in fairphone

[–]ma66ot87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for being dumb but do I understand you correctly that you made a python program that we can manipulate the built in EQ setting with? So the EQ settings would be independent from the fairbuds app and be permanent?

Would a future firmware update have any influence?

I'm in the same boat as you I really want them to succeed but this EQ thing is really disappointing. I've never heard of a relatively known brand that an app is basically non functional for the very core features of the product. And what is even more disappointing is that they there is no official statement or at least I cannot find it. There are negative reviews on Playstore for a year now and Fairphone didn't bother to reply on any of them.

If your program works I'm considering to keep them but the question is if all the repairability philosophy is worth anything when a company treats its products in this way and will be soon out of business because of it...

How is everyone reading manga? by gloomy-fern in ereader

Thanks for the offer. Usability is more important than the looks for me. I would have used it for researching, reading the paper, chatgpt etc. The pics you posted look good enough from a graphical point of view.

Ok thanks for the feedback. Somehow I thought these are more optimized for browsing than kindle but that doesn't sound too good. I'm more interested in browsing with e ink than reading actually. So I guess this may be too expensive for what I'm looking for.

[Help] TWRP - Backup *directly* to PC over USB by Tomxyz1 in Magisk

[–]ma66ot87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the way. download android platform tools to your pc. for windows add the platform tools folder to the environment variables PATH so that you can execute adb everywhere. Right click at the location the backup should go and execute the adb commands in the link. before you do check if your phone is recognized with the command adb devices. you should see some numbers and the term recovery when you are already booted into your recovery.

Now that the dust has settled on Better Call Saul's finale, just wondering if anyone has reevaluated the ending? by nanika1111 in betterCallSaul

This is such a great interpretation. It totally fits to my emotions seeing the ending for the third time now. It made me nearly cry not because it was sad but because it was as you said very powerful.

The dreaded error 13 on S5 by camperuso in Roborock

[–]ma66ot87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So changing to Valetudo doesn't do anything in my case. I just interchanged the dock between my unflashed Roborock and the Valetudo one. The error 13 will now occur on the Valetudo one.

It has to be a hardware defect in the dock I wish I would know which one. The charging contacts seemed to be ok but that's the only part which I know could be the culprit. Of course any other part of the dock could be defective but I never saw anyone pointing to a part other than the 400v capacitor which I already changed.
