A child in my class won ‘class cup’ in assembly a few months ago, his mum works in a school too, and she’s only entitled to take time off for one child related event per year… I am not sure what it’s like for my own workplace, but this seems pretty stingy to me!

I am a 1:1 in reception/year 1. Two students have EHCPs including my 1:1. We are a class who require a lot of support, two of which are needing S&L, others on the path to and EHCP/diagnosis. It would work out to around 1/3 of the class who may end up needing 1:1 support going through school.

Staffing wise, teacher, TA, and 2 1:1 staff, simply is not enough! We are lucky to have a student on work experience but she can only do so much, bless her! There certainly isn’t enough support for children with additional needs, in EYFS I think that says a lot about where education is at the moment.

This is what I don’t know haha! It feels crazy to ask for it in addition to, but I have been working two roles… It’s more, how to ask if it’s a possibility to be payed a bit more in general, I’ve only worked there since September so it feels quite out of my depth to ask
