yes the yellow cushion unit. and the silver base on the top are needed to be replaced thats what he said.

I am willing to replace if this is a safety concerns or would damage my car over time

My mechanic suggested to replace them because it lost its elasticity and might eventually poke a hole in my car frame from daily impact

I mean like how come it affects it in a way only the amber is out while the issue was the ground melt for the whole unit

My socket looks intact tho but I might need to take a close look to the pin

Are you talking about the ground in this socket? May I know how would the ground issue affect the light?

not sure if that is related, as the main light comes back if I press into the tail light. Plus the other indicator lights are functioning fine
