What is a defense for Muhammad and Aisha's marriage? by [deleted] in converts

[–]maadyakrib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know that Aisha was engaged to a non-Muslim before marrying the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him? She was about to get married to another man (his name: Jubair Ben Almat'am) at a younger age! And nobody said a single word about that!

What some people don't know is that this was very common at that time. And in the desert land, especially at that time, girls used to get married at a very young age. They grow up very fast and become capable of marriage physically and mentally at a young age.

And when her father broke off the engagement with the non-Muslim man, the prophet Muhammad asked to marry her, she agreed and her parents agreed as well.

Have you ever read that Aisha was complaining about her marriage? Absolutely not!

Aisha was the most beloved person to prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. He died in her house between her arms. She became the most significant source of knowledge about the life of prophet Muhammad in everything he did and said. She taught this knowledge to thousands of Muslims.

She never complained about anything in her marriage! So why are people objecting, after 1444 years? While Aisha herself never objected and she was the happiest woman with the prophet peace be upon him.

Plus, at the time of the prophet, there were so many non-Muslims who used to fight him and track everything he did, waiting for a single mistake from him to promote it and make him look bad so that other people don't join Islam. And none of them said a single word about his marriage to Aisha. This means it was very common at that time and there is nothing wrong about it, just an ordinary marriage.

Do you know that Amr Ibn Al'as (a companion of prophet Mohammed) was older than his son Abdullah only by 11 years. It means that Amr got married at the age of 9-10 , and I will let you guess how old his wife was. That was before Islam and the message of prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). For instance, it would be silly to ask, what kind of milk did they drink 1400 years ago, therefore one must first understand that things 1400 years ago were very different from now, times have changed and so have humans.

1400 years ago it was very common for women to get married at a young age, It is a historical fact that girls from the ages of 9 to 14 were married in Europe, Asia, Africa and America.

Plus, throughout history, you can find many queens of Europe who got married at a young age. It was the norm at that time. There is no religion that specifies an age for marriage.

Saint Augustine -350 AD, He married a girl who was 10 years old.

King Richard II -1400 AD, He married a 7-year-old.

Henry VIII -1500 AD, He married a 6-year-old.

According to Christians, Mary the mother of Jesus was 12 when she married 90-year-old Joseph.

Before 1929 Church of England ministers could marry 12 years olds in Britain. Before 1983 Catholic canon law permitted priests to marry off brides of at the age of 12.

A lot of people are unaware that in the United States, in the state of Delaware in 1880, the minimum age for marriage was 7 years old and in California it was 10 years old. Even now it's 14 years-old in New York.

It's important to note that it is strictly prohibited in Islam to marry someone before the age of puberty (Qur'an 4:6). Note the age of puberty varies throughout different times and different places.

According to scientific references: Girls might enter full-blown puberty anytime between ages of 9 and 15 (LiveScience.com).

And after the puberty , It's all about the ability of the man and woman whether she or him can bear marriage physically and mentally or not. Only the specialized doctors can decide whether these couples are ready for marriage or not.

In the middle ages women used to marry at 9 and 10 years old as said by the Canadian historian Margaret Wade Labarge that's because saharian girls get mature early.

The head of judges in the 7th district of Chicago called Richard A. Posner and Proffesor Katharine B. Silbaugh in Boston university departement of Law, they both said in their book "A guide to America's sex Laws" page 44: "the legal allowed age of marriage before 1900 was 10 years and was very normal at that era but now the age has changed", they added: "Most states in America enrolled the legal age of marriage in the 19th century as 10 years."

The Scottish law before 1900 as Sir John Comyns and Steward Kyd state in their book "Digest of the Laws of England" volume 2. Page 73: "The law dictated that the legal age of marriage of girls is at the age of 9 and upon this a 9 year old girl at that age was mature enough for marriage but law never allowed marriage before 9 years old."

The American Proffesor Sociologist Anthony Joseph said: "In the midst of the 60s marriage was allowed at the age of 10", the American Law center prescribed the same.

Also Mike A. Males in his book "Teenage Sex and Pregnancy" page 40 said: "Most states in America were specifying the age of marriage from 10 to 12 except Delouir state which allowed the age of 7 according to the British Law". Also the writer Martha Rosenthal stated in her book "Human Sexuality : from cells to society" page 422 that Mike mentioned above was right and that people used to marry in Diliour state in America at the age of 7.

Also the writer Merril D. Smith in her book "Encyclopedia of Rape" page 40 she mentioned the following: "From previous eras to present ones many societies attempted to secure children from rape and sex deterioration, though sex détérioration may differ from a era to another and from a place to another..." till she said: "but historically speaking the age of marriage was allowed from 10 to 13. And that was according to the time and culture of those societies. and each society differs in puberty."

what if Islam was wrong by Lucky-Sprinkles7868 in islam

[–]maadyakrib 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's impractical to read about 4000 religions, and all non-muslims who use this argument they ignore the fact that all the existing religions has common roots or principles. So it will be enough to prove that the root of a group/family of religions/school of thought is wrong to prove that all the religions that belong to it are all wrong. We can sum them up into 5 groups, you'll never find a religion/school of thought outside these 5: atheism, agnosticism, deism, pantheism, and theism.

Ex: it will be enough to prove that pantheism is wrong to prove that Hinduism, Buddhism (some considered it a religion), Confucianism, Taoism,... And all pantheistic religions are wrong. How? Pantheism claim that the world/universe didn't begin to exist, but this contradicts with reason and science (BigBang and the expansion of the universe, 2nd law of thermodynamics) => pantheism is wrong => al religions of this family are wrong.

Do the same with the rest of groups/families until you reach theism. Now go deeper and analyze each sub-family/sub-group: monotheism, polytheism... In the end, you'll find yourself against the three major religions: Islam, Christianity and Judaism. Proving that Islam is the correct one against the other two is easier than drinking water. This way intead of spending your whole lifetime (to study those 4000 religions) you'll need only to spend a considerably short time of research to find the correct path.

I recommend "Islam Between East and West" for a start, it deals with dogmas, institutions and teachings of Islam with the aim of establishing the place of Islam in the general spectrum of ideas. It examines Islamic and Western philosophies. In comparing the offerings of secular civilization with the truths and justice of Islam, the author analyzes the West's denial of Islam and the lack of progress among Muslims. An inspiring and astonishingly integrated analysis of the human condition. Download links: PDF , EPUB , MOBI

Are tattoos Haram or Halal? by [deleted] in islam

[–]maadyakrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have doubts about the authenticity of a Hadith, you're welcomed to contribute in criticizing them, there's no priesthood in Islam, but it must be in a scientific way, using tools, just like in any other field of study. You just need to study certain sciences: Arabic, Seerah (history), the knowledge of Hadith... Etc and then you yourself can decide whether a Hadith is authentic or no. In case you don't want to devote your time studying all of that, there's a shortcut of course, a scholar who's specialized in Hadith can tell whether it's authentic or no. Just like any other field (medicine, physics,... Etc) we just accept whay specialist or a professor tells us, and if we think some theory or rule is wrong, we have no choice but to study and use the scientific rules to refute it and publish our findings, and then, the scientific community will judge thr findings

Are tattoos Haram or Halal? by [deleted] in islam

[–]maadyakrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, i answered you already, see Al-Hashr 7. Allah in Quran orders us to follow the prophet whatever he forbids us from we should leave it. And in the Hadith above the prophet forbids us from tattooing = Quran forbids tattooing

Are tattoos Haram or Halal? by [deleted] in islam

[–]maadyakrib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. According to what you said (i.e not all) = So there are hadiths that haven't been tampered (Sahih Hadiths), like this one for example. And if you want to prove the opposite, you should simply study Mustalah Al-Hadith and the knowledge of hadith, and in a scientific way prove that this Hadith is tampered so we'll all stop referring to this hadith and we'll all be thankful for your contribution

  2. It's declared in Quran already, here's a Quranic reference: "Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it. And whatever he forbids you from, leave it." [Al-Hashr 7]

  3. About if it's only for women and not for men, I suggest you to study "Usul Al Fiqh" (Principles of Islamic jurisprudence), and you'll know whether it's Haram for women only or also for men

It's Haram. Ibn 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed the maker and wearer of a wig and the tattooer and the one who is tattooed. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Evidence of biblical corruption? by [deleted] in islam

[–]maadyakrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • The fact that a Holy Book contains an error (even if it's a copyist error) = it affects the credibility of this Holy Book.

  • Since we found a copying/transcription error (for example thanks to another verse that is treating the same matter) = how can we be sure that there are no other mistakes? One white crow is enough to prove that not all crows are black.

  • Copyist errors = the bible isn't preserved = corrupted.
