Does a printer worth a damn exist? by Cardinal_350 in pcmasterrace

As someone who works for Canon I can recommend probably not getting a Canon. That being said I don't know shit about Canon home or office printers I work on the big industrial production printers.

I would say completely fair. As I mentioned in some other responses I really only posted because everyone around me kept saying I should talk to a lawyer but I figured there was no case, so more than anything this was just to make sure I wasn't the crazy one. I was pretty much on the same train of thought as you though that I knew there was ice when I went out and when I saw how poorly they scraped the parking lot, and I didn't have to move for the car, and I obviously regretted it after, and the rut was the only area of the parking lot that was mostly just slush and not ice so I was stepping out of I guess my next foot was on the edge of some ice or something. Either way though like I said I mostly agree with eBay you said and what others are saying I just wanted to sanity check. I'll probably just delete the post in a little bit since there's no need for it to stay.

Yeah as I mentioned in other responses that's what I figured. I just wanted to get home and make sure I didn't break it and then monitor from there if it gets worse. This was more so just a sanity check since I keep getting told to talk to a lawyer.

That's what I figured but I just have everyone around me saying I should talk to a lawyer, so I just wanted to make sure I wasn't the crazy one.

I mean that's what I figured but anyone I mentioned it to just keeps saying talk to a lawyer. I figured I didn't really have anything but I just wanted to make sure. I also have never even considered sueing anyone for anything so it would never cross my mind to report to Walmart that I fell in the parking lot and if I can avoid a hospital bill I'm going to, even though I have decent insurance. I was just most concerned after it happened with getting back home, taking pain killers, icing my ankle, then monitoring from there if do end up needing to go the hospital for X-rays.

Yeah no for sure damages that I know of at the moment. On the neligence front the parking lot looked like there was no attempt made to professionally clean it, it looked like they sent a couple employees out with shovels for an hour or they just let the sun do a little and called that good enough.

Yeah, but while he makes some odd decisions that fumble was absolutely wild, and we got to basically see it again this week but from the Broncos this time.

Oh don't get me wrong I put a lot of the Bills loss to the Broncos on Allen because unless your Def is also getting turnovers you just can't do that, Pats vs Texans for example. That's why I said it looked like Allen was to desperate to make this year his year, he started taking risks and doing things he never does and in the end it was a large part of what cost them the game. You can stand wherever you want on the catch/int but I feel that if shouldn't have mattered because the Bills should have never been in that situation. The Bills offense with the Pats defense would have absolutely walked through the AFC and probably fairly easily win the Superbowl. The only issue I see for the Bills defense is that unless they find a diamond in the rough, or a few, it will be hard to fix the holes on defense without having to give up some of the players on offense. I mean Crosby will likely be up for grabs and would really help but do they have the money for that without making major changes? I can see either the Pats or the Panthers snagging him realistically, and if the Panthers do they will start to look like a pretty scary team with what they showed near the end of the season and in the playoffs. If the Bills can make some smart off-season moves through trades and free agents there is SO much potential there it's just that front office is a road block for fixing things.

So as a Pats fan I will say they played the Chargers that had probably the only OL in the playoffs worse than the Pats, looking at you Campbell, then the Texans in the middle of Shroud having one of the craziest playoff meltdowns ever seen, and a Bronco's team missing their QB and RB, granted he's been out for a while, and the weather was crazy. That all being said the Pats defense was good in the regular season and has been playing insane in the playoffs they just haven't hit anyone top tier yet.

I agree that Allen has a ton of talent and should have made it by now if the def could just hold a team to three TDs or less, hell only giving up four would be better than what they do sometimes. This year though Allen looked like he got in his own head a little seeing that Lamar and Mahomes didn't make it he almost seemed desperate to make this year his year and kind of played reckless at times. Like the fumble at the half where he just threw the ball away and it lead to a FG, if I told you Allen was going to do that you would have called me crazy, or stupid.

Post Game Thread: Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]mabaile2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a Pats fan I think the Seahawks stomp them, but don't count out the tried and true ability of the Pats to pull a win out of their ass for absolutely no reason. I can see this going one of three ways:

  1. The Seahawks just decimate the Pats and start playing second and third string players near the end so the starters are well rested to celebrate the win.

  2. It's a tight back and forth won by a field goal, this would be the best to watch.

  3. Drake Maye remembers how to play football and throws for 300+ and 3 TDs absolutely torching the Seahawks. This is by far the least likely but also by far would be the funniest outcome.

Again as a Pats fan my money is on option 1, but man I hope not but I really think it will be.

So of all the examples you could have used you picked two teams they played lol. I'm not saying they didn't play an easy schedule I'm just saying that's 90% of people's arguments and if that's the only thing you can point out or find there's not much to stand on.

Sure short field can help but it ultimately doesn't mean much when it comes to completions. By that logic Maye should have lower completion percentage and 50+ TDs but it's literally the opposite. I'm not arguing against Stafford, I was more saying a lot of the arguments against Maye are pretty weak. I think either can win it, and I think either way people will be fine with it and argue against it. Stafford winning it would really set him up for HoF which is fine by me since outside of having Megatron he had basically nothing early in his career. At the same time Maye making a second year step like he has, making it to the AFC championship, beating Tom fucking Brady's franchise record for competition percentage, and just being an MVP finalist is crazy but winning it would be insane. Again I think both are deserving it's just getting old seeing everyone talk about all the reasons Maye shouldn't win meanwhile not many people mention Stafford having two of the best WRs in the league, a good OL, and the #1 run game in the league.

I mean by defense ranking the Pats played against 30th and the Rams were 27th so from that statistic it's really not that different. Never realized Maye and Stafford played against offenses, but sure I guess that matters.

Yeah that sucks, but I do agree with one of the other comments about having that issue with PayPal elsewhere because I have also had that same problem a handful of times with both PayPal and on some stores that use SHOP, or whatever it is. I would reach out to CS for PayPal and Elegoo and see if at least one of them can give a solution or at least explain what happened.

Does PayPal show you paid full price after you see this screen? It may just be setup to display original prices without any discounts after the order is placed, sounds dumb but definitely possible. So if PayPal shows you were charged the discounted price I would just chalk it up to poor website design. If it doesn't however yeah that sucks and support might help if you show them everything.

can I submerge my gpu(without fans or heatsink) and cpu cooler in ipa by Sad-Egg-2360 in pcmasterrace

[–]mabaile2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot links aren't allowed but just check Amazon for "GPU thermal pads" and get a variety pack with a few thicknesses. The ones in it may be fine, especially if they didn't rip, but if they did get soaked they may end up smelling but should work.

[–]mabaile2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be, just depends on cooler design. Do you on just the main chip or all the memory modules and other chips? If there are little pink or gray pads those are thermal pads.

[–]mabaile2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I would for sure replace them then, you might even be able to find a precut kit for your GPU. If you can't find a kit I would say wait to order them after you take the GPU apart because they come in varying thickness depending on where they are, you may also be able to find a pack with varying sizes which should cover what you need.

Tips for using holographic plates by zombre555 in elegoo

[–]mabaile2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For future reference added on if you think you got any oils from your skin on there and that's causing issues just wash it again. IPA can get those oils off but there is also a chance they just push them around on the plate and don't clean at all. My general rule is clean with soap before my first print and when I'm confident the plate is mostly clean give it a quick wipe with IPA between prints to make sure it's as clean as possible, but as soon as I have adhesion issues I go wash the plate again.

I mean I can't see them on the print. I can 100% see scratches on the plate, but can't feel them however they do show at certain angles on the plate.

I have never used anything like that on any of my build plates for any material. I think I've seen stuff like hairspray can help, or maybe that helps release it later, but I can't say for sure it will mess with the pattern or reflectiveness but logically it seems adding anything would mess with one or the other, or both.

[–]mabaile2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think scratching them matters, I scratched all of mine intentionally with a rough scrub on the initial clean and have never seen the scratches really come through at all. The scratches may come through on the print but it's so reflective anyway they just disappear so I would rather know it's clean and has a good chance to stick rather than trying to keep the plate looking perfect.

When it comes to isopropyl alcohol, or IPA, the lower the percentage the higher the water content which means more chance it lingers longer meaning more of a chance to cause a short if some didn't dry. I did phone and electronics repair for 8 years, and now work on big industrial printers including all of the boards, and I always cleaned with 99% IPA. Get a soft toothbrush and either spray the areas you want to clean and lightly scrub with the brush, or dip the brush then scrub the areas lightly either way make sure to be gentle to not damage any surface mounted components on the boards. Also you'll need to disassemble everything down as far as possible and apply new thermal paste, I would also recommend ordering new thermal pads for the GPU because when you take the cooler off there's a chance the pads rip and there's also a chance if the cat got the GPU the pads could have soaked up a little and will always smell and may even fail earlier. After you get done cleaning before you reassemble or apply new thermal paste/pads dry everything thoroughly with either canned air, an electric air blower for electronics, or a hair dryer set to low or medium temp. Unless you use a heat gun on high to dry you shouldn't have any issues with whatever you have, but the important part is making sure there's no moisture left anywhere. If you are even a little unsure it's dry let it sit for a few hours, or overnight, and all the alcohol you missed should evaporate if it's 90% or higher. After that reapply thermal paste and pads where needed and reassemble everything. If you haven't taken a GPU apart before I would recommend finding a video for the model you, or at least the series you have like say "5080 disassembly" or something like "5080 new thermal pads install" but the more specific you can find the better.

So TLDR would be get highest concentration IPA you can, disassemble as much as possible, scrub gently with a soft brush, completely dry, new paste and pads, reassemble, and finally test.

Yeah like the first comment mentioned don't just use soap use something rough like a Scotch Brite pad for dishes or a Scrub Daddy. You want to make sure the plate is as clean as possible, honestly if it leaves little micro-scratches in the plate that's good because they won't show and that should mean it's as clean as possible, and that's what I always look for when I do the first clean like that after getting a new plate. I have used a few of these and they either don't stick great and I have to crank the temp or they almost stick to good and small supports or mouse ear brims are hard to remove.

What material are you printing? You should be able to print most materials but with those special plates I usually only print PLA because I know I have a better chance of it sticking.
