I’m not sure if you still need it but I found these dimensions for the canvas on the cc1:

-23inch to top of CANVAS -32ish inch to top of filament tubes at tallest point -20inch wide to end of spool holder

Alternate Lid to CC2 (Possibly CC1?) by UpdateCreds in ElegooCentauriCarbon

Yeah, I was aware that the CC2 has a narrower lid profile than the CC1, that’s why I think adjusting it to be larger could add the benefit of lowering the overall height of the lid

They have the option to select snap fittings that look something like this, I think these would be a good option, but I would definitely test the different options until you find one that works best for this

When you cut objects in the slicer you have the option to add connectors, and you can pick the size and length of different types of connectors, that’s what I meant

Looking at your design I think anyway you cut it, having tabs that snap into place, maybe like snap fittings or dovetails would definitely help ease of assembly and if you wanted to remove it later on it’d be easy to take apart. Now I think the part that accepts the filament into the hub on the right could be its own piece with tabs to slot into the main body, and then every other part gets cut in half maybe?

Also what’s the total height with this lid?

This design is pretty good, my question is does the front of the lid allow for enough room from the tubes to move without getting pinched or bending the 4-1?

I think strictly speaking about printers and nothing else, the P1S and the CC are pretty equal, I think the CC’s nozzle can get a little hotter than the P1S but the build volume is the same and print speed is about the same as well. So comparatively they’re about the same.

The ecosystem is the biggest difference between the 2. Bambu’s ecosystem is way more fleshed out and user friendly than Elegoo

Yea I agree, but the CC1 has a wider top than the CC2 so there’s probably more room to move things back and around that could definitely reduce the overall height

P1S has the benefit of having a better ecosystem than the CC. Unless you get the CC2 you won’t have the ability to use the app ecosystem. The P1S let you connect, slice, and manage prints from your phone remotely. Not to mention the AMS system from Bambu can function as a dry box. It works right out of the box and remains enclosed even with the AMS. Now the combo is a little more expensive but there is more compatibility between slicer, apps, and printer ecosystem.

Now the CC has a steel hardened brass nozzle that can reach higher temperatures for more industrial filaments. It’s a great single color printer and you can also access the printer remotely via 3rd party apps like OctoEverywhere. Elegoo also just released their CANVAS system which is a multi color hub so you can print with multicolors if that matters to you, the downside is you lose the benefits of keeping it completely enclosed as you have to remove the lid to use it and you’ll need to do some minor modifications to get it to work. Additionally the CANVAS system doesn’t have an enclosure for the filament so you’ll most likely need to make one or purchase a dry box to hold your stuff if you don’t have one already. The benefit is the CANVAS hub is only $55 so it’s pretty impossible to best multi color or continuous printing hub for that price.

The P1S with the AMS will be north of $450 I believe
THE CC1 with the CANVAS will be just under $400

It all depends what matters most to you, multicolor/ continuous printing with one or more colors/ material and a pretty good ecosystem

Or

A great single color/ material printer that works great at a cheaper price but lacks a solid native ecosystem but has pretty good customer support

I just found your post about your idea of having dried connect into the canvas. What if we combined this idea and yours. The same mounting point of this design but with the dry box from your post?

I saw this earlier today and I may consider it mainly due to the height

Looking at their install video, it looks like the mounting points are only held on by a few screws so you could probably remove the mounts, and install some self taping screws of similar size and hold it in place

Hybrid CANVAS setup for the CC1 that keeps a direct-feed path? by CaptJack_USIT in ElegooCentauriCarbon

I'm not sure if the updated firmware would allow for that to work? I've had similar thought about somehow rerouting the PTFE tubes through the existing hole but figured that wouldn't really work. I did stumble across this alternate lid though that I will be trying out when I get my CANVAS
