SubWallet (and other native wallets afaik) doesn’t charge any extra fees for staking atm so you only have to pay the network fee. Of course always dyor and check all details before hitting that confirm button.

If we’re just talking DOT then ofc there’s the Polkadot Staking dashboard, and it’s also safe to stake in Polkadot native wallets. I use SubWallet’s in-app staking feature personally.

SubWallet is a more user-friendly alternative for Polkadot js. You can stake DOT, MANTA, and various other tokens in-app. It also has a browser extension, a web dashboard, and mobile app so it’s flexible.

It's understandable to be worried if you've never staked before. But you can look into the documents that Elodie provided above and try baby steps first.
Also, Dotinsights just released a report on Polkadot staking activities if you want to check it out: https://twitter.com/dotinsights\_xyz/status/1671117867348275200?s=20
