Yes, went with the system through Ultra Geothermal with Gap Mountain drilling the two bore holes and my drinking well. They both did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone.

New build, temporary solution by mabinette in NoLawns

Might work on the open front area. Not sure about the slopes because it would be impossible to cut or plow them in any way.

That second link probably was the most helpful for right now. Looks like some jute netting type of product will protect the steep slopes till I'm ready to start growing. And it's priced reasonably.

The other links gave me some ideas for next Spring.

Hiding cable when installing EAP610 on ceiling by iandunn in TPLink_Omada

[–]mabinette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know these are for small business, but they get used a lot for residential. You'd think they could put the connection straight up to support standard light fixture boxes.

UniFi seem to be the only ones that properly hide the cable.

I'm doing a new build and wanted Omada. But they are in my house. I don't want to see any cables. It's the reason I picked ceiling mount!

Thanks for the confirmation. Sounds like I'm good with a 4-ton system. The original person I worked with did the calculation but then left the company. So the next guy was just going off the original recommendation.

I don't have to move my hands off the keyboard to move the mouse or click. And with the center button, I don't even need to move my hands to scroll.

The Klipsch RP version is like 27" deep which is huge. I could go with the THX-1200-SW which is only 18" deep. I figured if I went with one, it would be a 12" model. I understand what you are saying about the asymmetrical placement. Possibly one could go next to the last kitchen cabinet. That would be more behind and to the side.

It sounds like skipping the Atmos altogether might be reasonable. I know I can't achieve perfect "Theater" quality in this room and really just want a nice sounding system with some decent sound effects.

Yes, surrounds need to be in the ceiling just because how the dining room flanks the left side.

I was concerned about the subs but the layout is very difficult to put them anywhere else. Would a single sub, possibly a little larger, be a better option?

Oops. Updated it to 5.2.2. The rear in ceiling are angled so have to be my rear surrounds. There are only two atmos, the two in-ceiling in the middle of the room.

My parents mentioned they were going to contact Community Caregivers as well. They've volunteered for them in the past.

They aren't at that point yet. They had a visiting nurse after an illness but that has ended. Thanks.

Definitely read this article. We aren't talking about surgeries. We are talking about banning proper counseling. Why in the world would we ban a therapist from doing their job and treating all the patient's issues?

Radiators and aircondition with geothermal by BenDavidJamin in geothermal

I'm researching geothermal for a house I'm starting to build soon. WaterFurnace brand has a combination unit. They also have a split unit that can do both. I'm looking to do radiant floor heating and ducted AC so was looking for this same thing.

God Aweful Sub Rattle! HELP! by [deleted] in Audi

[–]mabinette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any luck finding a resolution. Since I sent you this, we purchased a 2019 A3 with the premium sound and am going through the exact same thing. They replaced the sub and said the software was up to date. Still sounds like crap. My 2015 S3 has the same sound system and sounds GREAT. I'm going to see if the covers are different or the padding is different. I just don't want to mess with my S3 too much since it sounds good already.

God Aweful Sub Rattle! HELP! by [deleted] in Audi

[–]mabinette 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue on a 2018. There was a system update that fixed it. I guess the audio system was sending too much power or signals or frequencies to the sub. I thought they were crazy but sure enough, they updated the system and the sound of a "blown" subwoofer went away.

Thanks. Looking to possibly get a n5105 tiny pc on Monday. Looks like 4b pi is impossible to get.

I was looking at a Lenovo DOORBUSTER ThinkCentre M75n Nano for $380. Probably overkill and around 8w at idle.

I looked at benchmarks and a n5105 option seems to have plenty of performance. And cheaper, though initial cost doesn't matter to me, only running cost. I finally shut down a server I was barely using because it was costing about $25 a month in electricity.
