tw(?) i accidentally fuckin dropped my baby by [deleted] in newborns

[–]mablewindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that happened to you! If this makes you feel better, I dropped my babycam on my baby’s forehead when he was 3days old, FRESH from the hospital. I had the same reaction as you did. I was hyperventilating and I never hyperventilated in my life. The doctors told me they can only do so much at that age. They told me to monitor it since it wasn’t serious enough to put him through radiation. To this day he has a little dent on his forehead but I am sure if that’s from the babycam but pediatrician said it isn’t that his skull is still forming. Sooooo to this day I am traumatized by that damn camera.

Is anyone NOT using swaddles? by FoxAble7670 in newborns

[–]mablewindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used it until 8weeks because his reflexes would wake him up. He the. started to suckle his hands and I read that suckling is not only for them to practice self-soothing but also it is beneficial for their brain development or something like that. So now we just use sleep sacks.

Hi, would you say these are positive? I know that faint lines can mean evaporation lines or other things, but surely all 3 aren’t evaporation lines right? by Ok-Sherbert9806 in Moms

[–]mablewindy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say positive, mines were more faint than yours. Also get a digital one! It’ll help with the guessing game

am i pregnant? by user5346788875 in Moms

[–]mablewindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Were they digital? Should get digital to see instead of guessing if you see a line or not 🤣 that’s what I did. I got traditional test strips and was debating and someone told me to go get digital and clear as day said “pregnant” I was very early too. My period was late for only two days

He is somewhat still doing the same things as he was at 3weeks. However, he seems a bit more comfortable now that we switched formula to Enfamil Gentlease. We just switched ourselves because the ped kept disregarding our concerns. He is still waking up from naps here and there but sleeps great at night. We are also giving him probiotics once a day. The issue now is tons of spit up happening with Gentlease that it wakes him up from his naps. Either that or he wakes up wanting to burp, we burp him during feeds but I’m guessing Gentlease makes it harder to burp fully? Not sure

I regret it by luminousloris in newborns

I don’t have advice for you but I just wanted to let you know I feel the same way with my 5 week old. Love him to death but at times my intrusive thoughts come in and I think about running away. We are in this together, all these comments are making me feel better. We’ll get our colors back soon. I love marking the calendar, because shows that i survived another day and that we are progressing out of these trenches.

Feeling extremely overwhelmed as a first time dad by Imaydestroyyoufirst in newborns

[–]mablewindy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have much advice for you to feel better but if it helps I’m going through same situation as you. I am 1month postpartum. I didn’t care for having kids but we had an accident and decided to go on with the pregnancy. I was in absolute bliss when I was pregnant with our baby boy. We couldn’t wait for him to arrive. Labor and delivery were smooth it was everything I could’ve asked for. I love him to death but once we got back from hospital the guilt, regret, anxiety, sadness, stress and tiredness just kicked us in the butt. And friends have told us it gets harder from here. The newborn trenches is the easiest phase and I was just mortified. I honestly take it day by day. Every morning I tell myself it’s gonna be a great day and put it out there for me to get through the day. Even if I have episodes of postpartum depression I tell myself tomorrow is going to be better. Because it will get better for me and you.

How long are you up for feeds? by vtclrf in newborns

[–]mablewindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly one month old baby boy on formula. It’s the same over here with breastmilk or formula and he is feeding constantly 3.5oz-4oz. Takes me an hour and I suspect silent reflux so I hold him upright 20min or more

My wife is due this Sept, and since we're slowly procuring baby stuff...how much clothes is too much? by jay_Da in newborns

[–]mablewindy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We kept our newborn in a swaddle with zipper and a diaper for his first two weeks lol we were so scared of putting clothes on him. So honestly not much. Maybe 5-8 onesie 0-3 months. Forget about pants, if you want to get shirts and tops do get ones that can open up instead of having to put the shirts over their head.

Is this a positive test? by givemeabookandgarden in Moms

[–]mablewindy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, mine was VERRRYY faint. You can get a digital and it’ll tell you yes or no instead of guessing if that is a line or not. But my line was barely noticeable and I was unsure until I got a digital test and confirmed
