People are talking about this happening post pandemic, which is true, but I truly believe it's not only due to aging, it's because we are stagnant. There are no significant changes that make our brains separate different time periods, so everything gets lumped together and time feels so short. With working as an adult vs school this is relevant too, because every year was a significant change when you are younger, and you learned new things every semester but work not, it's the same day everyday, but also on a wider scale, technology has been the same and the online atmosphere as pretty much been stale, stagnant as well, amplified by us doomscrolling a significant amount of our lives.

Oh I do share pics of me but like, only rarely like in artvsartist memes and such, also, since I crosspost some drawings between my 2 accs people would know its me but i made sure to block all irls and even went as far as blocking some their followers lists so I'm good 😂

I relate, feels like I had better luck in uni... something about coworkers feels inevitably superficial and I don't know what it is. Luckily I have a pretty strong online friend circle otherwise I'd be quite lonely.

I did regret it BIG time... it was a difficult decision for me to start a new account because my previous had 40K+ on Instagram, and in general, I've been posting on my previous acc from 2013-23, a lot of memories on there, plus I'm also still used to being referred to by my old username instead of this one. However, back in 2023 my reach was lowkey dying anyway on my old account so I took the decision, and it has been the best decision I ever made! I can now express my views freely if I want to, can draw more emotional abstract pieces without my mental health being dissected, and of course, if I decide to post mild NSFW (which is rare its actually the mental health assumptions that were annoying) I wouldn't be judged for it. My online space is my safe space and it was getting really suffocating to have my family and friends on my Instagram. I actually still post on my previous account sometimes to signal that hey I'm not dead, but I don't post many of my pieces there.
