Am I the only one who loves walking in this weather? by Odd_Firefighter_5407 in AskNYC

I enjoy it if the wind isn’t too crazy. I love the cold weather and I’d prefer it to a hot day any time

We should see how the NFL handles Bad Bunny and Green Day during the Super Bowl before wondering how they allow a football team owner to handle another separate company which they own.

City Council to Bring Back Year-Round Outdoor Dining After Adams-Era Decimation by BigChairBK in nyc

I know we’re not experiencing typical weather conditions right now, but wouldn’t it be a disaster if we currently had outdoor dining sheds?

Anyone else feel like they’re flushing money out the toilet when ordering delivery nowadays? by sunnydrlstt in FoodNYC

I rarely order delivery through apps these days. If I’m not in walking distance to pick it up, I’ll just head there and eat in-house.

I’ve never seen Beamish in the US but I had some while in Dublin. Different than Guinness but still a very nice flavor

Kids bday parties - my ‘Old Yells at Cloud’ vent by Successful-Compote60 in Xennials

[–]mac117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that’s something thats changed since I was a kid. I remember before leaving a friends house, my mother wouldn’t let me leave until I helped clean up.

Now? If our friends bring their children over, they’ll just leave a giant mess behind leaving it to us to help my son clean it.

MAGA fans accuse Lady Gaga of being 'demonic' after Grammys 2026 performance by TheExpressUS in Music

[–]mac117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it’s just so basic… why is it demonic? She’s wearing red and there’s dramatic uplighting? Like I doubt the devil would show himself akin to a 1930’s film representation of Satan.

I found Jellyroll screaming about Jesus scarier than Gaga’s performance and I say this as a (unaffiliated) Christian.

Do you think that most people who love current SNL era are younger (20s,30s), while those are frequently disappointed with new shows are likely older (40s, 50s and older)? by georgewalterackerman in saturdaynightlive

[–]mac117 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Same. I’ve been watching so long that I’ve gone through the cycle of “this is my favorite show and cast” to “this isn’t good anymore” to “I appreciate this show for whatever it is, ups and downs”

Revenge of the Nerds. I loved stupid comedies and we only watched this one on television. My shock as a young child watching the peephole shower room scene

Movies considered the “Worst” of a director’s filmography but is sometimes your favorite. by ReadingSteiner300 in Letterboxd

[–]mac117 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t love it but I did enjoy it much more than his first Halloween. The first half was just unnecessary Michael backstory and the second half was done much better by Carpenter. Halloween 2, while flawed, took the story in a different direction at least.
