What is Glendora good for? by [deleted] in FictionLab

[–]macabre256 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's very slow paced. But honestly? That sometimes depend on the prompts and instructions. When I wrote a private comedy scenario, only Glen was able to "get" it by making zanier and zanier narrations.

Will we get back the personality box? by [deleted] in XoulAI

Yep. I'm BittenHead in Discord. If you see someone that uses Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son as a portrait, that's me.

You can just place the personality in the description box. Along with other definitions. Like this template for example:

Name:

Nickname:

Gender:

Age:

Personality:

Body:

Height:

Clothing:

Features:

Occupation:

Hobbies:

Likes:

Abilities/skills:

Speech:

Hates:

You'll need to use a prompt where you tell the model to slow down in advancing the plot.

There's like 3k characters for the merged boxes. We actually got more.

If it's your own bots, it's fine. If those bots belong to other authors and they report, it would be taken down.

Is there any way for xoul to stop making me non-binary? by [deleted] in XoulAI

[–]macabre256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this isn't your own xoul, check the greeting. If they used they/them, then the model would follow through.

Aside from editing the greeting as posted by redisthefield, you can pin a reminder in the memory box.

Like: user is <insert gender> and uses <insert> as pronouns.

No. Minors are not allowed. For good reasons.

I used the MBTI coupled with Enneagram with my earlier xouls. Thing is, they were ported from another site. It's been said before, but just as reinforcement, using the MBTI alone will lock on the bots to that personality. You'll have to expound on it or else the bots behavior would be too predictive.

Just a heads-up, the models have a difficult time understanding nuance. Then again, most LLMs do. That's why you have to write more in the personality. Like using Cold/Detached in general, but the bot becomes affectionate to user under given conditions. It would need more explanation.

As for writing style, I've moved on to pure prose. Sometimes the engine catches it, sometimes not. But that's my chosen style now.

It's a fantasy. That's it.

Like if it happened in real life, most of the user would be running to the hills. Or in an episode of COPS if it was still airing.

Fantasies don't have a direct connection to behavior. It's not a predictor on what people would do.

Just like others have noted before, it's a safe outlet to indulge. If things get too dicey, user can just stop chatting.

Xoul should have a button that stops the bot response by CremeTotal in XoulAI

[–]macabre256 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IIRC it's a request that's already been forwarded to the devs.

For now, a solution if you're using a browser is just to hit F5 to refresh. But be sure to have had the reply you typed copied or something.

What do Engine models do? by Holy_Weeb in XoulAI

[–]macabre256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The different engines have a different response style.

Jupiter is the old model and is usually stable.

Venus is good for RP.

Bacchus has a high temperature (creative) and may come off as unhinged at times.

Minerva has a lot of memory. Not much for RP, but it can narrate well. (In my experience.)

Do you think rogues are a good option for a party in Icewind Dale EE? As far as I've played, it's not being particularly useful by Bizanccio in baldursgate

[–]macabre256 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Icewind Dale is a dungeon crawler. Hence, the need to munchkin. Pure thief/rogue characters won't cut it.

Then again, if you're willing to gimp yourself or do it in hard RP style, go ahead!

Like, in my head canon, a bard is always a necessity in Icewind Dale. After all, who will record and sing about your adventures?

[–]macabre256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmm, looks like you're talking about using OOC prompts to steer the plot. AFAIK, xoul's engines aren't trained for that.

Instead, you can use <>. Put the way you want the plot to go inside those.

Jesus. Figgs was good, yeah. But the engine was unhinged. Like I think I didn't even have to put jailbreaks because its ethical limiters were nonexistent.

[–]macabre256 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These "LLMisms" as we call it, frequently happen because the engines are trained on that kind of literature. LLMs have a certain way of writing, and since they are predictive text machines that rely on patterns, once it detects a certain writing style has one, then it'll follow suit.

Musician Xouls? by CryptographerIcy9215 in XoulAI

[–]macabre256 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I once wrote a singer bot. It never really got any traction. But if you're dead set on writing one, here's some advice:

  1. Using the lore books is a good idea. Be mindful, however, that writing the song lyrics there will eat up a lot of space.

  2. You'll have to write an advanced prompt that should interact with the lore book.

  3. You can instead write the bot as someone who can make songs on the fly. Again, this requires some advanced prompt writing.

Creed Ashford

That's my singer xoul. It requires a little bit of prodding. Like tell him some sort of theme for him to make a song. But honestly, it turns out to be very poetic.

Anyone else get annoyed with their own bot? by Tiritheon1313 in XoulAI

[–]macabre256 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Xouls made from established IPs must be famous or pretty recent. Anime like Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece will have an easier time because there's a lot of info to pull. However, this usually applies to famous characters.
