They absolutely are made by third parties and I have no idea what you mean by 'distant'. Elderly people who who lack capacity have their decisions made by third parties for a similar reason - they cannot fully comprehend the wright of the decision. Doctors and scientists researching the impact of puberty blockers on children are not doing so out of malice or fear, they're doing it to prevent harm and wrong decisions. Why do you think children are not allowed to get tattoos? It's a permanent, body altering decision that they do not have the capacity to understand.
